Right Wing Extremists want to push their agenda forward regardless of the fact that we just recently had an election and Obama won the popular vote.

The U.S. has never elected presidents based solely on the "popular vote." Having said that, I think it's a bit too early to either praise or condemn Obama. So both sides of the political fence really need to cool it until we see anything noteworthy occur.

It might be too late. He might have already stolen your liberties and turned you into a serf of the state by then :o

Context...all this talk of secession right now, after the Democratic Party won back the presidency and gained seats in Congress. This amounts to nothing but partisan hackery.

Public opinion can be changed, you know that. If public opinion in Texas is worked by pro-secessionists to the point where the majority support the option, you, being the UN-lover that you are, should be enthusiastic about them exercising the right the UN says they have!

We had how many months of campaigning before the elections? The Do-Nothing Republican Party hasn't given any comprehensive ideas for dealing with the financial crisis or this Recession. All they have is rhetoric, hysteria and now talk of secession. F##k 'em.

I'm with you on that. What pi$es the sh!t out of me are the ones who wanted Obama fail before he's even had a chance to prove his policies will work. That to me isn't patriotic. It's just bitter defeat at best, and bordering on treachery.

Natty, you live in Houston don't you? Have you ever been to the Fiesta supermarket on South Main and Post Oak on the southwest side of town. The store sublets the mall entrance to small independent shops not affiliated with the store.

There is a shop there that is a total shrine to Obama. It has huge framed portraits of Obama in various godlike poses along with reams of other Obama memorabilia such as T-shirts, commemorative dinner plates, etc., etc. You gotta ask yourself...who buys this stuff? Who would festoon their abode and wardrobe as shrines to Obama? Apparently there are enough that do to keep this place in business. I find the concept kind of weird, creepy, and definitely cult-like. Geez...it is downright scary that someone even has that level of worship of any politician.

Not to mention some of the cult worship Obama posts that have cropped up here on VJ from time to time. I know others have seen them.

I doubt that you will find anything even remotely similar from the mainstream Right or people that consider themselves conservative. I've voted in US elections since 1976 and voted for various candidates from different parties. I have never held that type of cult worship for anyone I ever voted for. I don't even recall anyone I know or associate that has a worship fantasy for any politician. We may believe in our principles, but we do not worship our leaders.

So who the heck really is an "extremist" here? It's obvious to me.

I know the store and the area. Yea ... a shop existing on Obama paraphernalia has enough business to keep open ... weird

We've relocated our offices to the Willowbrook Mall area and I'm not far from another Fiesta. Some day I'll wonder over and see if there are Obama shrines there too.

To be fair, there were many who wished for Bush to fail right after he was elected. However, that was somehow patriotic.

Nothing wrong with dissent on either side, unless you're a Stalinist or something.
