Hi all,

I finally received a NOA2 today.

It took me almost 7 mos. & needed a lot of my patience.

I know it is not the end of my journey so that I have some questions, and I would appreciate it if anyone can answer my questions as below.

1. I received a NOA2 letter, but when I checked on the USCIS's website, it still shows the NOA1 info. & date (Not updated as of yet). Can this happen?

2. What is NVC?

3. What will be the next steps after NOA2? How long it will take from the date of NOA2 to NVC & interview?

4. In any next steps, what kind of documents I should be asked to provide?

Thank you~!

Just hang in there a little more...

Someday it will happen to you...

congrats! ours took past 7 months as well.

1. no worries, my case also never got updated online n still says 'received and pending'. dont worry about that online status site anymore.

2. national visa center is where your application is being sent from csc. they will then forward it to the foreign's country's embassy.

3. you will receive a letter in the mail from nvc (or the USC will) and then you will receive a letter from the foreign country's US Embassy. you can start working on Packet 3.

time it takes varies. check out my timeline (as well as others filing from your beneficiary's country) to get a rough estimate. interviews usually take a couple months at least from submission of packet 3.

4. For details on packet 3 and what u will need, go here:

Hey Korameri:

My case was never updated on the USCIS website so no worries.

You should call the national visa center to see if your case has been received, you will be issued a Seoul Embassy case number starting w/ SEO2009 ... something...

Your case will stay at the National Visa Center (fingers crossed) for a few days... and then the National Visa Center will send it off to the Seoul Embassy.

Takes 5-6 working days for Seoul Embassy to receive your case.. Packet 3 will be sent out via email after that... basically you can schedule an interview once you receive your packet # 3 ... but my fiance and i are waiting until we have all of our paper works prepared.

Let me know if you have any questions!

Wow, did you file expediated or anything? How did your whole process go through so insanely fast? The average is still around 210 days according to visajourney.
