The timelies under the "Immigration Timelienes" tab at the top of this page, what are they based on and how are they calculated. I mean yesterday, it was 70 days from NOA to approval, today it is 63 days. Is this based on information obtained directly from the service centers? Can someone shed some light on that?

I haven't done an exhaustive study of these numbers - They seem to roughly indicate the average of the latest 15 approvals, and based solely on self-reported VJ time line statistics. Use for reference only - not official in any way.

You'll see that sort of thing get longer when a long time to approval goes through, and get short if there's a whole bunch of quickies just posted.

Remember averages are misleading and easily affected by outliers (military expedite on the short end, and extra security checks/long time to reply to RFEs etc on the long end)

Based on fellow VJers posting their own timeline data; something you haven't. The more information inputted into the system, the better the numbers.

These are real-time information and I believe the numbers are updated on a daily basis.

It is based on VJ Timeline data. We reject outliers as much as possible however the processing estimates may vary a few days or a week. We update the graphs daily and the estimates are done in real time. As more people add information the estimates become more accurate. Also as the approval dates get closer then the estimates improve as the "data" for that time frame is more accurately able to be used for predicting things. Any suggestions on improving the system is welcome. The "date range" for estimated approvals was created to show the "statistical" range of dates that a person would expect to be approved in. The graphs simply list a number of days and or a date being processed. Between the two the timeline estimates (see your timeline view) are the most accurate since they give a range of dates based on statistics of the data.
