Thank u everyone!! I can't wait till every one of you guys get to do your happy dance!! ATK f u r in NJ come on down to the BBQ :P

OUR INTEVIEW EXPERIENCE -HERE U GO:

Okay as promised here are the details of hubby's interview.

Hubby arrived at consulate. Was not allowed to bring in any of the stuff he carried such as albums, wedding memory gift box I had made for him, diaries, etc. Was asked to leave bag @ cafeteria. Was only allowed to carry a folder with documents in there and some pics.

He first went to window # 6. They took the medical envelop from him, officer then got our NVC file, went over the DS 230 info. with hubby to ensure he knew all the details. He was asked my DOB and job, among other info. Then on to waiting….he was the last in. Others scheduled the same day all had left as he was called in. The consulate officer was a nice man of Indian descent. He didn't want to c anything hubby had brought- no chat logs, no letters, not even wedding pics!!! He was most concerned with pics of family (especially one with the parents, with my mom and dad).

First was first asked to tell our story. How we met and how we know each other. So hubby reached to get him chat logs and first initial meeting on Facebook (for those of you who don't know our story, we were each other's true love 14 yrs ago when I was in high school and hubby was in college and were then separated by family, friends due to our differences in religion, and my family moved us to the US and hubby and I lost touch but found e/o again on FB). So CO was very interested in hearing details of the story and wanted to hear hubby relate it rather than look at paperwork. He flat out told him that. He said I want to hear u tell it to me, I won't look at any papers. So he asked hubby "How do u know e/o?"

CO asked if we kept in touch with me all these years. Why not? Who found who first? AT THIS POINT UPON HEARING OUR FB STORY HE PULLED UP MY ACCOUNT ON THE PC AND LOOKED AT MY FB PAGE!! MY STATUS AT THE TIME READ: AWAITING TO HEAR THE BIG NEWS IN 4, 3, 2, 1!!!!

WOWWWWWWWWWWWW……=D HAD NO CLUE CO WOULD BE CHECKING OUT MY FB PAGE!!

He tried to find hubby's page but hubby had set his on private and told him u want my password, u can have it  My silly hubby!! CO said not it's ok.

He then asked hubby a few more qs:

Where was ur wife born? What's her DOB?

Why did u guys decide to not live here? Whose decision was it to choose America over Lebanon?

Why family wasn't all present at the wedding?

How many times she came to visit you, will she come back?

Does she have family here?

Asked how we found e/o? Who found the other ( I did!!)? How come he didn't find me or try to call me or write to me all these years.

If u don't understand ask 4 q to be repeated

Demanded hubby speak English.

Asked about my divorce and ex's nationality.

Saw my facebook page cz hubby said we found e/o on fb.

He asked hubby what time I go to work and when I come back. Wanted to establish if hubby knows my routine.

The CO did not even want to see my 2008 taxes!!! He only asked to see a copy of the police records and hubby's original birth certificate, individual registry (Lebanese equivalent for ID) and family registry.

So glad it's over!! Thank you for all my VJ buddies who helped me through this tiresome and stressful journey!!! Thank u guys! Special thanks to Lisa, Steve, Serendipity and Queudeup for answering of all my qs and the laughs we had =D And my newfound buds in the Awaiting Interview Thread: Champi, Gixbr, ATK, Amanda, Princess, K.D. , Princess, Corinne, ILMDD, vny, Noosh and th3mo, sorry if I missed any1, I am still in shock!! U are all so sweet and know that going through this with others kept me halfway sane lol Above all thanks to my hubby for riding this giant up and down roller coaster with me throughout all the ups and downs. And Thank God cz he showed us how to make our relationship even stronger through all this mess!!Hubby should arrive next week, Inshallah! I can't wait for the big reunion!!!! No more goodbyes!!

BEST OF LUCK FOR THOSE OF WHO WAITING. HOPE UR EXPERIENCE IS QUICK AND SMOOTH LIKE OURS WAS!! :star::star::star::star:

its so happy reunion and about that part of different religion i know when it comes to this level here in our countries lil bet different which they taking this part from the hard side and i can tell how much pain you both had but alhamdulilallah all gone now and kick all behind and flip new page which is already done i believe so happy endless reunion and good luck for your new life :thumbs::thumbs::dance::dance::dance:

Quick hello to everyone! Busy getting last minute things ready in anticipation for hubby's arrival this weekend. Just wanted to say hi to everyone :star:

Awaiting Wednesday to roll by so hubby can pick up his visa from embassy and book the airfare. Hoping he can find an available seat for Friday May 22nd!! Keeping my fingers crossed!

Way to go Eca Y Bubu and K.D.:thumbs::thumbs: Hubby only got one vaccine which I thought was weird. I guess it varies from country to country?? He said doc told him it contains a bunch of stuff. I found that strange but then again I am not in the medical field, so what do I know lol

Last weekend for me without hubby!!:dance::dance: So excited! I can't believe it's the final weekend...wished for this a long time ago! 300 days ago specifically since we filed our I 130. Today marks day 300 ..wow what a long journey it's been!!

yesterday, we received the letter (snail mail), but we already got it through email and finished the medical exam. should i still bring that letter they sent? or the printed letter from email which was marked from my medical interview?

If u are talking about the interview letter then I suggest u bring both. Better to be over prepared than not to be :P Hubby took hundreds of photos to the interview for instance and CO only wanted to see two!! He brought chat logs, phone records, emails, etc and CO didn't want to c any. Still we say it's better he went overprepared than not. U never know!

GS, do i need to bring the passport of my husband with me?? or no need since the USEM has it already

Jiskat, if u r the USC then no need for urs. I sent hubby color copy of my passport biographical page just in case but they didn't even ask for any of my documents. Only the benficiaries. Check ur NVC appointment letter as it will list all the docs beneficiary needs to bring to the interview. Good luck!:star:

One more update, princess in love just had her interview approved. :)

WOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO yayyyyyyyyyy princessssssss!! 3rd person to get approved in our little group :dance::dance: Good luck to all those waiting in tow! :star::star::star:

HI gixbr,

No, my husband is not taking our wedding album for couple of reasons ( 1. It's weighs over 8lbs, 2. It's with me right now).. I did create a mini-album, sort of like scrap book with about 50 pictures including our engagement pics, first valentine, wedding, and honeymoon. Additionally, I sent a stack of about 100 extra pics he can take. I've read about US Consulate where my husband will be interviewing and they don't allow things like bookbags and stuff, so it will be hard to carry all the paperwork plus albums and extra stuff we want...

In terms of updates....

I've already started preparing a bit for his arrival, got our first GPS system to be used when we'll travel everywhere, got an awesome 26" Samsung LCD Monitor/TV :D.. Now, time to look for bedroom furniture since the family function is finally over...

Champi, I guess you're the first to in June and I'm really excited for you. Will you be with your husband at the interview?

Nope Noosh... I am not going to be there with my husband... My limited vacation time wont allow me to. We decided to use my vacation time when he comes here for our hopefully second honeymoon ;) Already planning that too, Niagara Fall, Canada...

Hey Gixbr and Champs,

I agree that taking albums and oversized items is not a good idea. Hubby took so much stuff and they didn't even allow him to carry it inside. He had to leave most things like my diaries, a scrapbook box/memory album I had made him at the cafeteria. Besides most interviews are conducted in such a way that there is a glass window separating u from the CO. I know it's a pain, but try to take the photos out of the albums so u can slide them easily under the glass window as need be.

Champi, great update!:) I am excited to hear ur news and yessssssss I feel like jumping up and down! Finally the rush of good mood and endorphines is back after such a stressful and longgggggggg journey!! My health is back and most importantly the laughter in my voice, real good old fashioned true laughter if u know wt I mean..

As for the XY&Zs...they are never over lol :P For us it's first let's make sure the visa is in hand and it's correct  then let's hope there is still availabilty for Friday or Saturday so he can be here for my BDay BBQ on Sunday :innocent:

Got most of the house ready but still working on a surprise...ssshhhhhh can't talk abt it. He reads my VJ posts  (hubby nice try but did u really think I would post here and spoil the surprise  )...anyways guys always fun to check in with my VJ buddies. I will try to log on whenever I can after hubby is here to keep track of ur post interview good news as hard as that will be, cz we plan to tour the world- starting with NJ and NY then off to -WHO KNOWS?? Time to get off the couch and dump the laptops and embrace the outdors for a change! :P

Hey champssssss!! 15 days!! wowwwwwwwww! that's right around the corner!!

GS4EVER.... I can hardly wait.... I am back to "I'll be ok once XYZ is over".... In this case, XYZ is Interview and then his POE... I can't imagine being in your shoes...you must be soo excited.... do you feeling yelling from the top of the roof yet ;)

i agree with u champi , we cant carry whole album .. lol its weight is more than mine ... lol

i am also taking some photoes separately but problem is i hv photos of engagement, wedding and honeymoon plus my hubby's last india visit... is tht fine?? or do i need more photos.

20 days to go for interview.....:reading::clock:
