03/05/09: K3 and I 130 both approved! FINALLY after 230 emotionally trying days @ VSC!!

03/06/2009 : NVC Received; 03/09/09 Case Number Assigned; 03/10/09 K3 stuck in AP

03/17/2009 : AOS/IV fee bills generated (by email @ 10:00 p.m.); 03/18/2009 : AOS/IV fee bills paid online

03/27/2009 : AOS/DS 230 package sent to NVC; 04/02/2009 : AOS & DS-230 entered into NVC system

04/14/2009 : Found out K3 was forwarded to the consulate in Leb and CR1 stuck in AP; 04/18/09: K3 delivered

04/20/09: WOOHOO CR1 already out of AP; DS 230/AOS accepted with no RFEs!! Sign in failed on NVC payment site.

04/21/09: MAGIC CASE COMPLETE @ 4:30 P.M. THANK U GOD!!!

Me doing ok, still confused with the POE system

My computer is almost dead, my husband let his computer at home for me to use today

Texas won't give me a drivers license or a ID or Social with the K-3

so now

we might just finish the Cr1 at this point and get the green card it is faster then the adjustment of status

what a joke Georgina..... Did they give a reason why you can't have a drivers license??? I was under the assumption you are supposed to be allowed.....

You need a social security card to get a DL, you have to have an EAD to get a SS card...

So nothing happens until you file for AOS or EAD and RECEIVE the EAD on a K3.

SSA will issue a SS card if you can PROVE it is necessary for non working purps BUT getting a DL is NOT a valid reson in their eyes.

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive,and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

As Lisa advised you cannot get a SSN without EAD or AOS. Are you not able to use your DL from back home to drive in the US?

Im tracking Amarmex visa package...

its left the consulate :dance:

AND, I see that typical time is 5 days according to Amman's site.

Maybe earlier than May 7th :dancing:

Ok so we figured we will finish the Green Card and then do all the above

I can drive on my international license for 1 year

and progresive is the car insurance that doesn't make a big deal about it

had to change from Geico they want a us license

not hapening

Can you get a EAD with the K3 without applying for AOS

and ps what is in the envelope

at my POE they did not open it treat it like it was radioactive

and hand it back sealed to me
