can i send ds230 before i send the i 864?

I have all my DS 230 forms and supporting documents ready to go, but just hanging on getting the transcripts for tax which is looking like it will take some time, can i send the ds 230 in the mean time, will it kepp things a little ahead if i doo or willi get RFE>????

You can send it. They either put on hold your DS-230 or issue RFE.

However, you are going to pay more by mailing I-864 separately to USPS.

o ya, thats a point, the mailing issue, i think ill be a little more patient and just wait for the tax papers... do u have any experience of getting irs tax paper via fax, do u know the procedure and how long it takes???

You can get by fax; call IRS @ 800–829–1040. You need to be near fax machine.

I receive tax transcript by fax when I was applying for US citizenship.

It's better to sent both at the same time. Saves money, and your paper will be faster.

You can send them separately or together. With the slow down at NVC, it is probably better to submit both at the same time. In my case, I had sent the I-864 before the DS-230 package.

at this point , do you think another 20 dollars will really break the bank...NVC will process the forms as they get them...why not get them started on the DS-230 if the I-864 isnt ready to be sent...good luck

and on a third note...i sent our I-864 first while waiting for the DS-3032 to be accepted and the IV bill generated and processed...but,that was back in the days (september 2008)...

I mailed the Ds230 first since i was still prepairing AOS PACKAGE

and every thing worked out fine. My wife made a mistake on the form and he had time to have it corrected.

Did you call IRS during Mon - Fri? Call them during working hours then only you will able to speak IRS.

sounds like you already chose the "mail" option...if that won't be fast enough, do as, "I Miss Her" suggested and call during normal business hours and request they be faxed to you....

to correct myself, there is an option to have them faxed to you, but, i think you need to speak to a live operator for you to do such...i thought maybe you had already requested to mail them...mailing your transcipts to the last address on file wont be a problem to them, but faxing might require you to verify certain info with a live rep, i presume for your "identity" safety
