still more approvals happening for non-recalled cases.

what is going on for the recalled? this is truly ridiculous!

now that congress has recessed, has anyone made appointments to meet with their rep or senator?

i'm trying with both.

I appreciate everyone who tries to keep morale up. The truth of the matter is that we all got dumped on. Not because of our fault but the fault of the system and now in order for them to stay ahead, they will on the new cases and do the old cases when they have time. They figure we have waited so long, why not make us wait more. Too bad we don't know anyone on the inside that can tell us what really is going on inside the walls of the Vermont Service Center. Who do they get to work there and how do they pick them. I've given up hope. If all these people that got touched in July are crying and worried, something must terribly be wrong with the cases that have not been opened. Maybe we should just tell our loved ones to forget about the relationship and move on with our lives.

Yes, I am so demoralized as well. We were married two months ago (ceremony only) so I guess I'll have to settle for a marriage 5000 miles apart. Now I know why people move to Montana, buy guns, and barricade themselves against this government. I'm actually seriously considereing picking up and moving to Russia since my company has jobs there.

well now, that's real positive! if you can just call it off with your fiance then go ahead! i am still sticking it out because he is the one. how long have you been waiting? you're timeline isn't filled in so we have no idea. we filed mid march so it is now 4 1/2 months. 4 1/2 months? i wouldn't even think of ending it after such a short time concidering i am spending the rest of my life with him. come on t&s, be a little more postive!

do you quit every time you get dumped on?

I also think VSC keep working harder on new cases so that way they can move on with the timeframe thing.

Think about it.

1 - they keep processing new cases so the backlog won´t increase.

2 - they do work on recalled/pending cases, but slowly... one day they will clean up the backlog.

When they do, the mess will end, because they won´t have people from June or July waiting.

So there.. we are not priority, that´s all.

Our case is an emergency for us. It´s never been an emergency for them.

They will get to us, but they don´t have a deadline as we think they do.

That´s why we don´t see a bunch of approvals happening for us. They won´t get their staff to work in our cases for a whole week straight. They need to move on with the new cases. That´s how they will avoid a worst situation at the SC.

I´m not saying I agree with it. I´m just saying we must stop thinking we will get a special treatment.

Come on.. the public notice about the RFEs being ready was released on June 13th...

A lot of us haven´t even gotten the RFE yet.

And we only have 4 reapprovals in our chart.

Even CSC is approving faster than Vermont.

I wish all 50 or so of us that have gathered on this board could find a way to petition Paul Novak directly on how horrible this has been handled and how shameful the actions of his agency has been.

Sure, one question though - where's the chart?

Also, just got off the phone with a woman at VSC who told me they received my completed RFE today. The status hasn't changed online yet but I hope this is a good sign!

One last question - when you check to see if you've been touched - how do you do this? I can only access new info online by entering my receipt number. If I try the logging in method - it says I have no cases on file!

Thanks!

Hi Mew,

Ok - found the timeline but it needs corrections:

- Case reopened 7/15

- Notice that RFE was sent 7/17 - I didn't get the RFE until the 28th because I was out of town so I don't know when it actually came in the mail. Sometime between the 17th and the 28th.

- I mailed the RFE back to VSC on the 29th.

Hope that's clear now ~ e

americanwoman,

Don't dump on t&s. Clearly no one is going to leave theire one and only. We're just very fustrated and sad. I would swim the Atlantic to be with my wife and with this inept USCIS, I might have too :)

Sorry. I didn't mean to dump. I meant it as a pep talk, sort of a buck up! We are all sad, frustrated and po'd but to talk of ending the relationship is just too much! Imagine sitting at a bar havin' a beer with someone whose son, daughter, husband or wife was just sent to Iraq and won't be back for a year. "Oh....we are waiting for our visa to get married....and USCIS has screwed up....and I won't see him/her......."

Now how sorry do we feel for ourselves? How desperate are our situations?

Daily I give myself a reality check to help get by......and it works!

Before you make a lot of assumptions about incorrect order of processing, let me just remind of the obvious reason for slow moving. This was told me by the VSC rep when I called last (2 weeks ago) - Lots of people are on VACATION so they're shorthanded. It's August, our congress completed their hard year's work so they're on a long vacation no reason our beaurocracy can't take time off.
