To my fellow VJ'ers(F)

After a few months of preparations and waiting, and weeks of sleepless nights, we finally made it! I had my interview yesterday and I was approved!!! I still feel the butterflies in my tummy and I still feel like jumping for joy. haha.

I just wanna thank you, guys for all the help and assistance. Foremost, I am sooo grateful to God for making this possible for us. Kev and I wouldn't have gone this far without His help. My experiences during the medical examinations at St. Lukes and during the interview at the embassy were both great and worth remembering. Had I not only gained friends around, I also find the people inside so accommodating and friendly.

To those who are still in process, Good Luck! and know you'll make it, too!!!

CONGRATS!

Some of us are still preparing for our interviews. Would you mind telling us more about the experience?

hi there. i would love to share to others my experiences during the interview. the system of the embassy is like this, prior to the actual interview with the consul, they conduct pre-screening. the one that pre-screened me was a filipino and so we spoke in tagalog, our national language.

there were the questions she asked me:

1.) what is your name?

2.) what is your birthday?

3.) what is the name of your petitioner?

4.) when did you meet?

5.) when was the first time you met him?

6.) when was the last time you saw him?

7.) how long did he stay here?

8.) are you single? never been married?

9.) do you have children?

She wrote down notes. She was really nice and was joking. I think she liked the pictures of me and Kevin.

she also asked me the ff docs:

1.) my original birth certificate

2.) NBI clearance

3.) CENOMAR (Cert. of No Marriage)

4.) Affidavit of Support

5.) Photos (I gave her 30, she chose about 20)

6.) Emails (I gave her about 10 pages out of 50+ I got), photo copies of letter envelopes sent via airmail.

7.) Chat Records

8.) Phone Records

She returned to me the money-wire records and cards. Those are the only docs they got from me aside from the DS forms which was submitted beforehand.

During the interview with the consul, I wasn't asked for any more docs. The questions asked to me were:

1.) What is your name?

2.) What is your birthday?

3.) Any previous marriage? Then later he asked me again, are you single?

4.) What is your petitioner's name?

5.) What have you observed of him while he was with you?

6.) How many times did he visit you?

That's it!!! haha! Then he told me, ok that's all. I'll give you a chance to be with him. You can go now; just wait for your name outside to be called.

Well, I hope this will help to those who are still looking forward to their interviews.

Good luck! God bless you...

Wow, very simple indeed. You're truly blessed!

So did they give you back the photos and other stuff? I'm wondering because I'd like to keep ours. And I thought they'd want originals of stuff like package receipts and envelopes. Is it okay to provide photocopies then? And is it okay to bring a photo album with all the pics in it?

Thanks, girl! Oh yeah, I hope yours will be as smooth as mine. My key was just pray... pray.. and pray harder!!! The are 2 consuls that share each room. I could hear the other applicant being asked for her profession, the kind of job she's having, etc. I think she had more questions than mine so it really depends to the consul. But the questions asked to me are really the basic ones.

Well, good luck!!!

Yes, they returned stuffs. They just keep the important ones like the birth cert., nbi clearance, affidavit of support, and cenomar. Just those. And no, they won't be needing the package receipts and envelopes anymore. They only took the photocopied envelopes of my letters to my honey that he sent to me via Fedex along with the othe docs. The only photocopied proof I had was the envelopes. The rest are either originals or printed). They didn't take the original envelopes from my honey, the package receipts, etc.

You shouldn't put your photos in the album, otherwise you'd still be asked to take them off from it. :) I know you'll make it, too :star:
