Why not during the I-130

It seems like it would be a lot less steps if they asked who your consular is going to be on the I-130, does it not? That would mean all of the paper work could be done domestically saving time and money. If I've already got the DS230 filled out with all the required documents then we wouldn't have to wait for them to send it, her to get it, then for her to send it back.

12/22/2008...NOA1 hard copy received (11 days ~ Heavy Snowfall Delayed Mail)

Question makes no sense. The I-130 does ask at which consulate the beneficiary will apply for a visa.

Sorry I meant to say what is the point of the DS-3032. If the purpose is to ask who is going to be the contact. Why wouldn't they ask that on the I-130 granted the DS-320 would still need to be filled out that could be sent along with the package sent to the US Resident and then sent to the filer right?

Why wouldn't they ask that on the I-130 granted the DS-320 would still need to be filled out that could be sent along with the package sent to the US Resident and then sent to the filer right?

Would it be better to have 350 embassies around the world each processing separate bits of paper, or would it be more efficient and hopefully more consistent to have one National Visa Center handling all the paperwork for all the countries? I guess the answer chosen by the U.S. government is obvious.

To me NVC is extra steps to complete to get immigrant/ non-immigrant visa.

What NVC does? Collect few more forms and documents and distributed it to different US embassy/ Consulate around the world.

I-129F (K-3):

WOW...i thought my 7 trips to Peru was alot!!...with the way the economy is going and the cost of living down there compared to here, i am thinking of retiring there...will they mail my SS checks there?...ahhh...thats a long ways away...just a thought...i wonder what their immigration process is...

SORRY for the "off topic" response...the immigration process "is what it is" here...anyone filing learns to adhere to it and follow it...could it be more efficient...YES...NO DOUBT
