Send I-864 now or wait for DS-230?

Hello everyone and hope you're having a good morning, afternoon, or evening :D

I've read posts where people have suggested to send information to NVC ASAP so they start processing and if there are any RFEs, you start resolving them sooner. I've also read posts where people have suggested that it makes things smoother/faster if you send AOS and IV package together.

I've AOS package ready to be shipped today. I should be getting IV package ready by mid-next week. I am thinking, it is worth a wait of week so I could send both packages together and at least avoid false RFE on AOS package.

What do you guys suggest?

That's what we did, we had the AOS ready to go and had 1 document we waited for to send the DS-230. So we just waited to send both together in the same mailing, that way we knew both got scanned at the same time. It worked out well for us so I would suggest just mailing them together because nothing will happen until both are in anyway and to avoid the stress of a false RFE it made sense to us to wait and do both together.

I just sent the IV package, me being the beneficiary sending from my country. I didn't send before to my husband in U.S. because we changed our minds from K3 to CR1, so I didn't want to delay even more. He still didn't send the AOS package but he's gonna send it tomorrow,since my package will take probably one week to get there (I live faaaar away, small town) it might get at NVC around the same time.

I think it's a good idea of you sending the packages together, even though I didn't do it like that, but if you have a chance of doing it, I think it would be a lot better.

I just called NVC and they told me they've received our DS-3032 form but it has not been processed yet. Yeppie!!!!! Now this will keep me excited for at least today :D

One suggestion to VJ members: Always talk to operator. AVR still keeps saying "case # assigned" message for me. While they've already generated AOS bill, I've already paid AOS bill, and now they've received DS-3032..

I am not sure, I don't have IV bill. I think once it is paid, document cover sheet says where to send the package. If the location for both are not same, at least they can be both sent out on same day, right?

Is there any drawback to sending things together or at same time?

I sent both at the same time. less than 1 week my NVC is completed. IMO, I think it's better to sent both of them at the same time. In my case, I have 2 envelops inside 1 big envelop (mailing envelop). First envelop ATTN: to CMR with address, and other envelop ATTN: CMR AOS with address. Everything is okay, I hope this help.

The four digit zip ending is different, same day is fine, but the addresses ARE slightly different! Mike & Yizhen

One package is ok, but with separate envelopes inside! The NVC mailroom will deliver them to the right place!

Check the zip codes on the cover sheets you printed!

Yep. I may just spend the money twice... the shower answer is, waiting and sending them on same day or together is preferred way to go :)

I did not send together. I now have the "FALSE RFE" hanging over us saying "You did not yet pay the IV Bill". We alreday paid that and they now have our DS-230 IV Package proving that, yet it still shows in their system as Unpaid. Bottom line: Send both packages at once if possible. I was too impatient and figured if there was a real problem with the AOS package I could begin addressing those ASAP. In the end...I guess I wish I would have waited the extra week. Time will tell.
