hello again to my fellow visajourney goers! Hope you are all ok and happy with your loved ones! I know it's hard to be separated but I hope for those who are still waiting for their visas, you'll get it soon! Just always be positive :)

Anyways, I just one question and need your opinion about this. Do you guys find it so irritating (or seems not right) when your fellow Pinays ask you this "uy hanap mo naman ako ng papa dyan... or sino ang irereto mo sa akin dyan?" -translation- (hey, could you find me a lover there? or do you have somebody who you can introduce me to?" It really turns me off when my friends,so-called friends or even just somebody i worked with at the office ask me those. It seems for me that they only want a ticket to go to the USA. Sounds like it for me... but this is just my opinion. I might be getting paranoid too from not having enough sleep. lol No pms yet! Can't help but to think.. can't you find your own man? :bonk:

Just want to know your opinion about this kind of attitude.

Sad to say,but i do agree!(especially with the financial crisis going so bad..) as the old filipino saying goes "humawak ka na sa patalim"(correct me if im wrong..)BUT BUT BUT BUT im not saying that Pinays are all the same....some really need someone to fall in love with....and some just want other things aside from love....

But for me, whatever they want....its really up to them, what will makes them happy whether they love a person or just hurt them....

I'm just glad that im working on this visa for LOVE

It is a lil irritating but I answer them with this: You go ahead and get one of yourself. It was so hard for me to find one as most of them know what some Filipinas (at the back of my mind i say "Like you") are after. LOL

I like playing cupid too. It so happened that one of my colleagues at work wanted to marry a Filipina and my Pinay friend in Manila wanted an American guy for boyfriend. They hit it off when I introduced my co-worker to my Pinay friend. They got married 4 days ago here in Sonoma County. I think it depends on how serious they are. If they asked you to hook them up in a jovial manner, it means they are not serious.

Hokey Smoke!

Rocky: "Baby, are they still mad at us on VJ?"

Bullwinkle: "No, they are just confused."

i'm a bit annoyed myself but not for the reason you mentioned. i don't really like setting people up because i don't want to be blamed for something that might not work.

I agree and I REALLY hate it. I've done that before and I'm not doing that again. Hell, NO!

I feel like I'm being a match maker.

And when they finally get hooked up and everything doesn't come out their way, I'm the one who gets the blamed.

Silly, right?

No wonder most foreigners think that girls from third world countries are GOLD DIGGERS..

I don't find it pimping, gross and a desperate act for Pilipinas who wanted to hook up with American guys. I find it romantic. My husband is open-minded about it. As long as they are both consenting adults, why not? If the American guy has ulterior motive or has an ax to grind, that is a horse of a different color girl! Where is your hopeless romantic side?
