Hello everyone!

I have a very important question to ask, and am looking for answers. My case was process and sent from NVC on 03/12/2009 to Bogota, I was waiting for Bogota to schedule my appointment on April, but it was not schedule. My question is, how long does it take for the application sent from NVC to Bogota? also how long does it take for Bogota to set up the appoinment? if someone can get back to me as soon as possible. THANK YOU. :help:

According to current time lines here on VJ - folks are averaging around 60 days from the time the Embassy/Consulate receives the petition, to the time of their actual interviews.

You still need to take a few steps. First of all after the embassy receives your case from the NVC they will mail you what is called Packet 3.

Once you have all the documents they're asking you to get, you need to let them know either by mailing them form DS-2100, faxing it or e-mailing it to them. After they receive this information from you they will schedule your interview. If they receive it before the 15th of the month they will probably schedule your appointment for the following month. If they receive it after the 15th, they will probably give you an appointment for the month after.

*** Take note: Due to Colombia's horrible mail system many times the beneficiary does not receive packet 3, so make sure you download it from their site and send them the fax/e-mail as soon as possible. Otherwise, you'll have to wait for weeks or even months waiting for it.
