Hey guys,

I have been previously married before. When I write down the ex-wife's name on the I-129F and the G-325A, should I write her last name before we got married or the one that shows up on the petition. As of a few weeks ago, it was still my last name when I checked into it. Let me know please.

Thanks

when you mention yoru previous wife, you put the name she had when she was born. (sorry , i am not an us, so i don't know how you call that name)

at least, this is how my fiancé did. I have just checked his i-129 and g-325..

don't forget to put when and where for the termination of marriage; I know it cans ound trivial but sometimes, some forget...

Marriage: 01-26-2032

homesick: 01-30-2032

Divorce: 10-13-2032

I would suggest writing her name the way it appears on the divorce decree (a copy of which the US citizen is required to submit).

Okay now I have 2 conflicting answers :(

Not real sure what to do now....

Name she currently uses. That's what I did.

Regarding your ex, you may need to prove her current address. I did have to supply that info as part of requested info on the Blue Slip at the interview. I've heard of some other folks needing to supply that proof as well.

maybe the one that she has (when she was born) is the same as the one that is mentionned on the divorce decree?

i understand her reply bc she somehow advice abotu coherence and no mistake possible that you are talking abtou the same person. at the same time...

that's not so obvious..bc i don't know if, on the divorce decree, they always mention the name when you were born or one you have chosen after.

bc i saw that with my fiance. his ex wife changed her name before their wedding with her previosu husband..but as far i know he kept mentioning her name she had when she was bron. which make sense to me, legally speaking.

ok, i have just chyecked his divorce decree..and it's her married name that apppears on that doc. and on the forms (i-129..) they ask the maiden name..

i guess the name when she was not married..

so def. not the one she is using, especially, if she is married again or whatever..the one she had when she was born..the maiden one that's clear, now.

so you can go! ;)

Okay I got someone saying the maiden and someone saying the current one. I'll look at the divorce decree and see what it says, but I am still going to need more information of this cause all I'm getting is a conflict here :(

If they ask for the maiden name, then it's the maiden name. Which means the name she had, say, when she was born. Her family name. Or whatever you want to call it.

G-325A asks for maiden name. so, clearly, use the maiden name there. The I-129F just says prior spouse. For the sake of consistency, I used the same on mine. Maiden name for both.
