Update on my case:

1. NVC requested my original marriage certificates, nothing else.

2. I was told that my mother's documents have been received and accepted (I sent certified copies, translated to English ONLY).

Did you not include your marriage certificate when you sent DS-230? NVC requires some petitioner documents such as the birth certificate as well as current AND all previous marriage certificates in some cases (Parents of US Citizen is one of them).

I included CERTIFIED and TRANSLATED COPIES with DS 230. NVC wants ORIGINALS of my documents.

Hi everyone,

Due to MyMother's RFE for Original Marriage Certificate, I may have similar problem later on with NVC because my parents only sent me the "Certified" copy of this Certificate.

For anyone sponsoring for both parents, do you experience similar problem with NVC as MyMother when NVC asks for Original Marriage Certificate after submitting only the "Certified" version?

Note: USCIS never asked me for the Original Marriage Certificate.

Please advise. Thanks.

Would you please tell me how it was "certified"? Was it a copy issued by the same entity that issued the original BC?

It is a photocopy of the original but certified by the local government that it is the same as the original, stamped by the local government

Once again, what do you mean by "local government"? Is it the same entity or authority that issued the original BC?

I would advise everybody to check this website, http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/reciproc...ocity_3656.html. This site tells you where you should get the documents required by the USCIS.

Hope this helps.

yes from 1 week to 3 weeks, seems to be a little faster (1-2 weeks) if there was a 2-2.5 week delay for acceptance of email 3032 and they issued RFE for ds230
