I am filling the DS230 and i am not not sure about what to answer to a couple of question.

I answered NO to question #33a have you ever applied for SSN?

Now i think i should answer yes to question #33b.

What about " Do you want the social security administration to assign you a SSN and issue a card? You must answer YES to question 33b to receive a number and a card"?

Thanks

In question 33a there is a part more at the bottom:

"Do you want the social security administration to assign you a SSN and issue a card? You must answer YES to question 33b to receive a number and a card"?"

I understand.

So:

33 A is

No and Yes

33 B is

Yes

One thing to keep in mind, after you arrive in the U.S. - in theory by answering yes to 33A part 2 - you should have your SS card mailed to you automatically. This does not always happen. So, if you haven't received it in 2 or 3 weeks, automatically, please visit the social security office in your area and check it out and apply if need be.
