Haha you are funny! I have only had a Muster before the GHD. Do you remember how fat the Muster plates were? hahaha. They seem so ancient now, but I did love my Muster at the time.

Oh how cool ... I would love to live so close to Hollywood. I used to watch The L Word (I'm not gay or bi, but I loved the story lines LOL) and I thought it would be so cool to live in West Hollywood like they all did lol. Melvin is thinking of moving to a place just south of San Bernadino, I think it's called Temecula. I am totally up for that ... being within a short enough drive to LA and LAX etc, plus Lachy would be in theme park heaven haha.

Yes well I reckon we should all fly over Ness and Terri's way LOL. I have only been as far over as Texas and Oklahoma.

Ohhhh I used to work in 17 Mile Rocks on 17 Mile Rocks Road! Small world huh. I grew up near Ipswich (please don't hold that against me LOL). I lived in Bundamba for most of the 16 years I was up there, but have also lived in lots of areas in and around Ipswich, Hillcrest, Marsden, Burpengary and many others.

I have also lived in Seymour but never Shepp lol. Yeah I heard the SPC factory was up that way LMAO.

My first straightener was a Muster!!! I got a skinnier plate one but yeah, they were still pretty big!

Well if you used to work on Seventeen Mile Rocks Road, then you worked right by where my parents live! They live in the estate that is bordered by Seventeen Mile Rocks Road/Fort Road and the river...right by Canossa Hospital. My Mum works at Oxley McDonalds and I used to work at Indro Shopping Center :)

And I won't hold Ippy against you! Some of the funniest train trips I have taken have been on that train line, lol

Haha! Jamie, I won't hold it against you either that you use to live near Ipswich, I did too. We were practically neighbours....I lived at North Booval for quite a few years. Ipswich is not as bad as people make it out to be. I've seen much worse neighbourhoods here and they weren't even the really bad ones.

Astrid, I use to work at Indroopilly, not at the shopping centre but I shopped there all the time....I wonder if I ever bought anything from you??

Well I worked at Indro from June last year to January this year. You might know the shop, it's a novelty store called GeeWhiz. Up on level three right across from Kmart. MIss all the kids I worked with but don't miss working there...the owner was a racist, sexist pig :(

Hey all, I'm nick, new around here but figured I'd drop in to say hello...

Joined up to investigate how much longer my immigration is going to take as I'm already at 60mths... Thankfully Ive recently received paperwork stating a visa would become available within 9mths... So not too long now...

Is there any other type of applicants on the forums that aren't fiancees petitioning? Haha!

Tbh I wouldn't have a clue what the name of the visa is, but the petition is for unmarried son of a USC over 21... Mum is the petitioner and has been looking after most of the process but I'm guessing I'll have to take over the reigns for the medical and interview side of things shortly...

Has been a long time coming that's for sure haha...

Hi All,

Wow it's been a while since I have visited. I like the new changes to the site although I have to get used to it.

I have a question for all you Aussie ex-pats that have gone back home to visit since leaving.

What do you folks put on those entry forms? Do you just say "going back home" or visiting? It's been almost 3 years since my wife left so I am just trying to plan ahead. I don't know what situation she would be in.

Thanks!

Alex

Hey everyone! Oh wow, small world. I hated Ipswich and would never live there again, I know it's not the worst place in the world but I don't like it lol. You know that conveinience store on River Road I think it was? I used to work in there when I was in high school lol.

Hey Astrid :)

How cool and again, such a small world lol. I used to work down a road that runs off a roundabout, I can't remember it though. There were factories down it though, DayDawn was one of them ... I used to work for Sara Lee down that road.

I bet you had some great experiences along that line LOL. I remember being in a train once on that line and there were 100's of people at one of the stations, banging on the windows/doors etc, weiling weapons etc ... the doors weren't opened and the train driver took off and didn't stop until the next stop! Scary ####### lol.

My Dad and I caught the train every day to and from work, and since it was rush hour it was fairly quiet....but, oh, how that changes on a friday and saturday night!!! I actually saw someone shoot up on the train once....and of course, taking the train to fortitude valley was like traveling in a bar on wheels!
