We are now married!!

Everything went well.. it was a nightmare at first trying to find somewhere to do the ceremony as all parks were fully booked for labour day weekend and my visa expires next week. So we had one day, picked up lots of decorations, flowers, etc and made the deck in the back yard look really pretty. The ceremony itself lasted all of 3 minutes and I was a nervous wreck! My dad and best friend were listening on speaker-phone which was nice (my dad cried and my best friend was so excited). Then we went to a nice italian place to eat... and then went off on our mini-honeymoon. The hotel was absolutely gorgeous.. they upgraded us to an executive suite just because we got married! We had a jacuzzi in our room, along with 2 huge TVs, a king-size bed, a living room, etc.. we didn't want to come home.

We're finalising the AOS documents and sending them within the next 2 days.

i think initials are funny too my initials used to spell c.r.a.b now its going to be craa lol

My initials are DBK... or... DBJK if you count "Jovi"... I was convincing my nephew that my middle name was Bon Jovi or something... and when I said my full name I screwed up and said Brian... oops.

My wife on the other hand... CACK (Well, the A is from Ann and is technically part of her first name, but it's funnier this way). I think more people should get middle names with vowels for the first letter just for good initials. I want to name my first kid Freddrick, after our very own Fred, and the middle name Ulisies (sp?) after the character in night at the museum 2...

Funny you mention Bon Jovi Maliciant I always told my husband that the only person I would cheat on him is with John :rofl: .

04/18/09 - My Cuchi came, (NYC)a wonderful unbelievable moment!:)

04/20/09 - We applied for marriage licence. (Township Municipal Bldg Health Dept.)

04/23/09 - Licence on hand

04/29/09 - Applied for Social Security (He was in system!)

04/30/09 - Wedding day!!! Yeeebaa

05/07/09 - SS card in mail. "valid for work only with DHS authorization"

05/13/09 - Sent AOS paperwork.

06/16/09 - Biometrics Apptmt.

06/25/09 - EAD Card in mail!

06/26/09 - Letter saying case transfered to Cali.

08/08/09 - Residence Card in Mail! Yuuupiiiiiii.

THE END FOR 2 MORE YEARS.

3.15.2014: Mailed I-130 Packet for Mom and Dad

3.21.2014: Received email notification with case # for both petitions; case forwarded to NBC for processing

3.21.2014: Check cashed

3.22.2014: Hard copy NOA1 received

4.08.2014: Both I-130 approved (notification received via email) - It only took three weeks!!!

4.11.2014: Received NOA2 approval notice in the mail.

5.01.2014: Called NVC to ask for status of paperwork. Advised they received both application on 4.28. Advised to call in 30 business days for an update.

6.02.2014: Email notification received from NVC that shows parents' NVC case number and instructions to pay AOS Fee and fill out DS 261.

6.03.2014: Paid AOS fee ($88 for both petitions)

5.21.2013: Biometrics

7.18.2013: Testing and Interview

10/26/2009 Packet arrived at Chicago - And Submitted our Aussie application

11/04/2009 Application of CR1 returned - was rejected because of a "blurry zip code" we didn't bother to re-apply given that Chris had lost his job

04/05/2010 Australian application still pending

September 2010 - Chris arrived in Australia on Temporary Visa.

10/10/2011 - 2 year wedding anniversary - Chris to be granted Australian Permanent Residency

Summer 2012 - Planned immigration to USA.

It was really a lot of fun, small and lots of smiles. Those are our kids standing up with us. We spent the entire week at Bodega Bay (where The Birds was filmed) bonding as a new family.

Just as the ceremony was over..an Orca started breaching and spouting just off the shore...crazy!
