Cristy you must be getting so excited. Your interview date is soooooo close! I wish you tons of luck! Get ready for some heat. I hear it's awfully hot in Arizona. :D

excited does not even come close to describing it lol. I am going absolutely nuts. We are going to leave in 2 weekends if all goes well. It is more than hot it is indescribable lol. I was blistered there last year at this time. Thanks for the good wishes ;)

Arizona. Oh you poor dear. I could never live there cuz its too dang hot. I felt the heat just coming off a connecting flight through there. Yikes.

Same here haven't had a touch since may 1st either.

And it looks like you've been waiting since January... I'm sorry to hear that.

Why would they take so long? There's nothing special about our case... It's the first time we've ever applied for anything like this, we haven't been previously married to anyone, we don't have kids, and we don't have criminal records. We're your regular twenty-somethings who have graduated, have good jobs, have student loans to pay off and are itching to start our lives together. We met online almost 7 years ago and have visited each other countless times over those years. Does my case need to be "complicated" for someone to actually pay attention to it? *rolls eyes*

...if only the fiance hadn't forgotten to sign the cheque the first time, we wouldn't have got caught in this IMBRA thing.

I have heard a rumor that California will become the Service center for all K1 visas. That is why Nebraska K1's where transferred there, not because of backlog, and that other types of non-immigrant visas will be moved from California to the other service centers.

Complete heresay and rumors, but it would make sense.

And there might actually be advantages of efficiency through consolidation provided they have the right amount of resources at CSS. I imagine that these regional offices were established before the extensive use the computer and the internet and may no longer be effecient in terms of the entire budgetary costs of the USCIS.

I know I can't be the only one who is about to pull their hair out. Watching people from Vermont get notices of RFE's who have filed petitions in April and May. I am so conflicted in my feelings. I am happy that something is getting done and I am happy that these people will be reunited with their loved ones, but dangit if I can't help but feel some jealousy. California has always been notoriously slow and I flinched when I realized that my petition would be forwarded from the beginning from Texas there. Now they have yet to even send one RFE out in regards to IMBRA. People are getting touched, but noone's showing a change that an RFE has been asked for. I just got off the phone with the information center and got a load of bullcrap. My case is taking from 90-120 days to process so they say. The only way I can talk to someone is if I have a life or death emergency which would constitute them putting my case in front of someone elses (which is not what I am wanting to do). All I want to know is this...Are you actually doing anything with the cases you have received? Can you not post something? Why is it that Vermont can get stuff done and California just meanders through? I can't stand the not knowing. I wonder if I can call back and tell them the life or death situation is me having a heart attack from all the damn stress of their lousy way of handling immigration law? SHEEEZUS!

I'm with ya - I'm out of my mind but at this point I see there is zero I can do.

I am among the line..Our NOA was on april 4th from CSC...its pretty slow and seems like they aren't procesing any other case ...they are still processing the february applications...uuuhhhh getting insane here

Where did you call? Do you have a phone number for CA? I can't even get a response to my email . . .

Even before IMBRA it was like this. It totally sucked to sit and wait 80, 90 100+ days and see NOA2 in 2 weeks from Vermont. I know it is not Vermont peoples faults that they got lucky but it still sucks watching it.

Not everyone speeds through Vermont.....................It took me 90 days to get our noa2 & I am still waiting for an interview. It doesn't seem fair that people who sent their petitions in a month ago are going to an interview-but that is the way it goes.

I was just as frustrated as all of you are(still am) but trust me-comparing your timelines to other's just makes things so much worse. Your time will come. There is no rhyme or reason to any of this-I felt that my petition sat on someone's desk for ages-while loads of others got approved in record time. We just waited 2 months for a fingerprint appointment-you never know what is going to happen-who is going to get your case-what new law they are going to pass. I waited just as long as some people do at CSC and I live in Philadelphia.

It is hard but be patient

I hope you all get good news soon (F)

I thought the same thing................why is it taking so long? both single-no children-no prior marriages-you just never know. Now I know our case was pulled for a random security check(which began when we filed in Dec). We should be having the interview soon-but our case is a perfect example.................not everyone flies through Vermont in 10 days!

woulda-coulda-shoulda is right..........I have done that to myself over and over-it will drive you mad. things will speed up soon ;)

Those security checks some people get pulled into is when the names have too many hits (too many same names) so they do extra checks to make sure they have the right person. Of course FBI takes too long to do those, 6 months is absurd!

I´ve been praying hard to have my case go through without those extra checks, with all the touches I had I am hoping it means it´s been checked already, and now only the RFE is needed before I am adjudicated.

and of course my fiance just has to have a common name, doesn't he. 6-8 months was what i was expecting. now another 6 months on top of that if we did get pulled? we should've just got married down there on a "whim".

I think it really has to do with population. Obvioulsly Callifornia and the Western US has a huge population compared to the Northeast. So I can imagine its why Cal is so much more busy and takes longer to process. Its the only thing I can think of..
