We sort of met on the internet, but romance wasn't a part of it until I'd actually met him in person. We both posted on another forum, and I was meeting up with a bunch of people from that forum in England, and he very sweetly helped me arrange for a hotel and even picked me up from the airport.

In one of our conversations he had mentioned he liked a certain kind of chocolate, which I had found in duty-free on my way there. I ran to my room to get it, and brought it out to the hotel lobby where he was waiting for me and a few other people. He gave me a hug then, and it was like instant chemistry.

The rest is history...

QUOTEThanks for the reply Alison....funnily enough, it was after I posted after you in the 'person above me' thread that brought this up in my head again. I'm quite curious (and if I'm too nosey just tell me to stfu, lol) as to why you targeted Montana and Wyoming. What was it about those places that made you think that you'd find your soulmate only there? Obviously you were right, hah, but what are the characteristics of ppl there that attracted you? Or was it on a lark that you decided to look?END QUOTE

I only targeted Wyoming and Montana because a friend said she had a feeling I'd meet my soulmate there. She said there were lots of interesting, well-read men who'd moved to those states from somewhere else because they liked the space and the outdoors and she thought this kind of person might be my type. Never really expected to find someone, but my motto at the time was 'why not'... Funny thing was that he was the only one I wrote to and that within three weeks of emailing and phoning we were already saying that we thought we had found 'The One'. Seems miraculous. I love our story! (L)

Met my wife while i was working in India, a friend of mine whose india invited me to his brother's wedding, It was a very cultural Brahmain wedding, a week ceremony but I went there for the week end part of it only, as the engagement takes place on Friday night and the wedding on Saturday. That was that 1st time i attended an Hindu wedding celebration, I wore the cultural wear for the occasion which call a Dhoti, and the Kupta. Most of the people there i got along very well with, and my friend mentioned that i am very knowledgeable about the culture as such I would fit perfectly here, and being a single guy,

It was an arranged marriage, where the family made the decision, so we were just joking about it, took a few pictures, then a few days later I started to received notice from this Matrimonial site called Shaadi.com, l

thought it was junk mail so i kept deleting them, but it was strange my friends keep asking me any news, any news so i didn't know what they were talking about. So out of curiosity one time i click on the link, Little did i know when i CLICK, it took me to my PROFILE page, created by a friend, what started as a JOKE and the rest is history, now happily married with my sweetheart for 1 1/2 year.

Lai and I met on the Internet....actually it was a Christian dating site :o:P Both of us were at the point where we were seriously seeking a spouse, so from the start our conversations were centered around determining whether we were right for each other. We concluded we were after a month filled with tons of emails, messages, and phone calls. We then made plans for me to see her in Hong Kong five months from then. I proposed on the six-month "lunaversary" of our first contact  I had already learned a little about the K-1 process, because someone on another dating site's forums had told about her international relationship. So I did a web search and found a fiancee immigration attorney...didn't know about VJ at the time, or I might have done the whole process on my own, and saved the attorney fees. I wasn't intentionally searching for someone from another country, just someone with the same faith, values, and general worldview as me. Lai wasn't necessarily seeking someone from another country either, though she did have a preference for Caucasian men. It all worked great for us; we have been married 20 months now

I've seen that movie, it was kinda fun, specially the guy trying to figure out the dancing part, fixing the light bulb and petting the dog then you'll get the dance move. Whenever i am overseas i like to do locals stuff not just the tourist things, otherwise you'll miss out on the real country, Indian wedding is very elaborate, the couple working around the fire, the blessings by the parents, in a way south indian wedding is different, i guess it all depends on the caste, maybe each will follow certain rites, LOL, never thought about it, little similarity the main different I wasn't just visiting i was working there for a while in Chennai. South India is very much different than bowllywood, mumbai north india, i've been there several times prior it's pretty nice next time you go to india with sujet try to attend an indian wedding or and don't miss sightseeing to Kerala do the backwaters, whatever pastime you like you will find it there.

Wow .. so many people met online ! Scott and i met online .. for the first time in a Yahoo! computer help room :P We chatted for about 2 years after that in an IRC Linux channel before we ever talked about meeting .. we knew everything there was to know about each other by then, but we were only friends ! I had no idea he was interested @ all .. until he sent me flowers for my birthday  The card gave little away ( someone might be thinking about you ) He drove here in the middle of the winter a few months after the flowers ( 2700 miles ) with his daughter and they stayed for a month. It wasn't until after we were face to face that he told me all he had been feeling. In some ways i wish i had known before .. but in others i love that he would never have expected me to have an online relationship. It had to be 100% or it would never have been. I was in love .. and it was too late to think oh no he's not Canadian! We visited back n forth for about 14 months ......... and then the ring ! He asked me to marry him @ one of our Fav. restaurants in DC and we started our Visa process about a month later ( Who would have known it would be so much work ) The hardest part is almost over ! In 4 sleeps he will be here to come to the interview with me. Almost 2 years since we met i can finally see then end of being apart constantly

Rick and I met online in October 1999...almost 7 years ago now...lol. Man, it's gone by so fast you wouldn't believe it.

We were both still married, albeit very unhappily so and had stayed in the marriage for the children only. We both had unfaithful spouses who had degraded and humiliated us to the point that we believed nobody else would even want us. So just looking for a laugh, we found ourselves in the same Yahoo chatroom one night called "Married and Flirting". Rick messaged me first with the words "How hot are you?" because I had stupidly chosen the chat name (in ALL innocence I swear  ) for myself of "hotat40_1999" Well! I was totally pissed and proceeded to give him sh!t about it, explaining that I was a redhead thus a "hot" head and I was "40" years old and it was the year 1999, and just who the hell did he think he was messaging me with a message like that!? He let me rant and when I was done he said "Ok, guess I deserved that." We struck up a great friendship, this country boy who lived in the middle of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia and the big city girl who was in Montreal, Quebec Canada. We became really good friends, even trying to help the other see their marriages from the other spouse's point of view and attempted to help save our respective marriages....for what little it accomplished. And then one day, after we had been chatting for around 6 months, it was late in the afternoon and I was doing some housework when something suddenly dawned on me - I hadn't stopped thinking about Rick, the whole day he'd been in my thoughts. A bell went off in my head, then and I realized that I'd fallen for him. Someone who I'd never even met face to face who lived in another country and who was completely opposite to every other man I'd ever been attracted to hahaha. Sooooooooo....I broke the news to him gently, expecting to never hear from him again, when much to my surprise he told me he had known for months already that he was in love with me but never thought I'd give him even the light of day.

To make a very long story short, I've been giving him the light of day ever SINCE that day.

I thank God for the internet every single day. Even now, the internet is special to me. Not only because I met the man of my dreams thru it but now that I live in the US, it's my lifeline to back home, my 2 oldest kids and my old friends and family. (L)

** Oh! That was my SEVENTH HEART post! Woooo hoooo! Seven thousand....I'm not addicted hahaha. Much.
