EAD card production email on 3 June and again last night (8 June) to tell us the card has been ordered. It was worked on at some point today 9 June according to the uscis website. Not sure why they need to sent 2 mails almost 1 week apart, but at least something is happening.

We also got the 2 emails.. I believe the first is when it's approved and the 2nd is when its mailed out.. it looks that way at least... but we also received a 3rd 1 that said approval notice sent but that email didn't come until we already had the EAD in hand.. confusing!

Here is my exp at the AOS interview.

We reached the office at San Bernardino at 8:00 AM, there was a McDonalds near by so we thought we will have breakfast before we go in.. we stopped and to my surprise so a lot of ghetto people and my husband told me this is a bad area as they were all looking at us and we were the only ones dressed with clean neat clothes.. anyways we parked our car in the parking lot and walked towards to front door.

Gave the passports and interview letter to the card and went through the check [ just as in airports] He then told us to go to the 2nd floor and put the letter in the center window, we went through the lift and walked inside to find 6 couples waiting before us. we put the letter and were asked to sit, while watching the news channel outside we saw one couple who was with a lawyer get denied and the lawyer was explaining possibilities to re-apply in spanish [ Did not understand a word but knew the gestures].

Our appointment was booked for 9:30 AM and while waiting many more couples walked in with kids and we were looking at them play while the couples that had arrived before us were being called, at 10:05 AM a Filipino elderly man came in and called my name, he did not have a smile.. he had a dead serious face and we thought thats it we are already in the deniel list, I got upset and started getting nervous.

We made us sit and then asked for our ID's, gave him my EAD and he gave his Drivers Licence.. he took the appointment letter and made photocopies and came back and said that he needs to read a long letter and then we need to stand up for the Oath, he read the letter which said that i will be punishable by law............................ and then we took the oath and sat down.

He asked my husband is he was wearing those clothes cause of religion [ He had a black kurta], then there was a 30 mins talk about religion and he does not believe in any but God and explained why he doesnt and whats important is Love [ I was waiting for the stamp ;) ]

He then confirmed all the info on the form, asked if i had anythign with our names on it, gave him bills with same address but they werent joint, gave him our flight confirmation tickets to london, marriage cirtificate, and the svaings bank account [ He dint look at any of these just took them and filed them...then stamped my application as Aprroved :) i gave a big grin and they continued talking about Love and God. He then explained the removal of conditional status and wrote the date so we remember.

He told me he will stamp my passport and be back and then got back saying he needs to go down and do it... we walked along with him and he stamped my passport and wished me luck and success and said keep that smile on your face :)

We thanked him and walked out.

Thank you guys for all those kind words and wishes they really helped :)

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! I am happy for you both. Take a breath of relief now heheheheh .

Regards,

Amrit & Rob

Also just FYI, we did not get an I551 stamp, even though we were approved. The interviewer said that even though the paperwork says it should take 90 days to get a green card, we should have it in 3 weeks. If we needed to leave the country before we received it, we should make an infopass appointment.

Obviously this goes against the news from a week or so ago that greencards are getting delayed by 8 weeks while they update the machines and that I551's should be issued instead at the interview.

We didn't think to ask about the I551 at the time of the interview, we were just so happy to get approved.

We had our interview today and it went smoothly... we got approved!! Thanks everyone!!!

We were at the Federal Building 1 hour before our appointment. We didn't wait too long, my name was called after 10 minutes or so.. the IO made us swear and then went through the paperwork and asked me questions like if I've been arrested, deported and such.. Then asked us for additional evidence with both our names on it - gave him bank statements, insurance, etc. He then explained about the I-751 after 21 months that we have to file to lift the conditional green card. Then gave us this info pass letter stating that he needs to further review the file today, and he shall approved it later on today b/c he thinks that everything is fine and all the paperworks are good to go. I got a bit nervous when he said that. But he said that more than likely he'll get it all done today if they needed anything they will contact us. I, then got an email from CRIS stating "Card production ordered, Jun 10" Thank God!!!

Good luck to everyone re: their interviews and Congrats to those who already got approved!

Hey guys another question I used an ITIN before for the taxes now I know I need to send a letter to the IRS (so they can change my ITIN to my SS#) does anyone have an example on how it should look like?

On the letter from IRS, the instruction says just mail them a copy of your Social security card so they can update your record. I don't know if you actually have to write them a letter, it wasn't mentioned. In case you have other info kindly update me.

Hi everyone. We are May filers. We received our NOAs on May 18 and to date, no biometrics letter received. Everyone else who filed in May has received their letter. Of course, I can't figure out how to get a real person on the phone to find out what the problem is. Has anyone else in this group had this problem? Our case just got transferred to CA but I don't think that's the issue. Another person who was transferred got their biometrics letter. Also - and this is what really concerns me - I think the letters are generated automatically.

Thanks for any insight!

Hey Guys, I had my interview on 6/11, it went really well. The officer was very nice, and his supervisor was sitting right next to him for supervision.

First, we took a oath to tell the truth. Then, the officer just went through the forms and asked the information in the forms to confirm them. Sounds like just for formality. It turned out I filled out my marriage date wrong. It should be 2009, but somehow I wrote down 2008. Stupid me!! But he said no big deal and would get someone to fix it.

Then, the officer asked: when and where we met, if I ever work in the country, criminal record, terrorist activities, and blah blah (of course no no no...). He also asked for some pictures of me with my hubby and friends and families in them. He took and put holes on them, and put them in a big binder for records. We brought a lot of pictures with us. And he took my marriage certificate, my I-20, my I-94 card. He did not copy any of my passports nor driver license. Sometimes, I felt confused, because he kept going through different docs, but did not explained what he was doing. We just gave and answer whatever he asked.

Then he asked me and my hubby to sign at the bottom of some kind of paper. I was too nervous, so I did not look at them. Then he asked " do you know what happens next?" We were like "what next?" He then told us how to remove the condition after 1 year and 9 mons, blah, blah. He was very efficient and finished in less than 15 mins. Then, we shook hands and he wish we had a good day.

Thanks everyone for your help. And good luck with you all!!

BTW, he did not take my AP and EAD back. Is it normal???? I am kind of worried. And no status updated online yet.
