K1+ marriage but when is the work permit

Hi All,

I came to US three weeks ago on a K1 visa.

We got married ten days ago and sent the Adujustment of Status documents+working authorization documents+advance parole documents today.

Do you have any idea when I will receive a working permit? Will I really have to wait for like 90 days for a working permit or will they send something like a temp. working permit to get me started? I found a few temporary jobs throught friends and I need to work but I don't want to work without a working permit. Any ideas?

You will have the EAD, work permit, within 90 days of filing for it, probably not much sooner.

Next will be the biometrics - and probably the EAD (there is no temp/interim EAD) - typically takes between 60-90 days.

We did pretty much the same. My wife got her green card 2 days BEFORE her EAD. Go figure. It took us 2 months from filing AOS to get approved for the green card. I will say, I did make a small mistake and used an old form for the EAD. They sent it back within a week and I resent it the next day. I am not sure if that affected us as we also got the AP 2 days after her greenn card. Check the timelines of people and I think you will find similar cases. When everything is filed at once, you tend to get everything at once.
