Get your self one of those phone cards that cost 3 cents a minute --- I get mine through digitz.com --- a few more numbers to dial but it sure beats the higher option --- And I have a question for you seeing that you are from Philadelphia --- I am going to England in three weeks and this time I will be stopping in Philly -- problem is that I have a 6 hour layover and I dont want to hang around the airport for 4 of those hours --- can I catch the train from the airport and get to the Liberty Bell --- tell me if you think there might be a better option for 4 hours in Philly ---

Thanks for the heads up on the phone card. I went through my mobile carrier and got 6 cents a minute, so I'll have to look into that site!

The Philly airport isn't bad, but yeah, I wouldn't think you'd want to spend 6 hours there. Don't forget you'll have to go through all the security all over again if you leave the airport, though!

The train from the airport is called the R1. The Liberty Bell is in "Old City"...and I think it's on 6th, truth be told, I try not to spend too much time in Philadelphia proper. But what I was thinking might be a safer bet as far as getting back on the train and back to the airport in time is if you got off the R1 at the Market Street East/The Gallery station. That's right underneath a HUGE mall and the convention center, and right across the street from that is the Reading Terminal Market which is a pretty famous gigantic farmers market that's really neat to wander around in--A lot of Amish families sell their goods there, but not on Mondays or, obviously, Sundays. Go to Basset's stand and try their famous ice cream...mmmmm!!! And that way you'd be sure not to get so lost that you wouldn't make the train back. Besides, it's just a big bell with a crack in it.

Looking back, I probably should have PM'd this. Oh well. Let me know if I can help with anything else!

That's one of the sweetest 'meeting' stories I've heard on here in a long time!

Welcome - from one just southeast of ya with a Brit husband!

*waves*

Thanks! I'm quite fond of it myself.

I got to drive through a little bit of your pretty state last month when I drove to Austin, TX.
