piranha isn't bad. It's just like trout I would say. The Paiche (Aeropima Gigas) was really good though. Beautiful fish, I remember when I had the business people would ask us for those fish for their tanks but unfortunately they grow WAY to big for any tank.

Balut is so gross. :dead:

Actually it wasn't too bad, tasted like a hard boiled egg to me. My poor stomach just wasn't ready to handle whatever bacteria that was growing inside. Poor little ducks, I gobbled them right down

My neighbors from Laos used to eat it and they were always trying to get me to try it.I just felt so bad for those little chicks. :crying:

there's an asian grocery that imports Balut here in Charlotte, I actually bought one but never ate it lol.. so I threw it away, still looking forward to eat it

they also sell jellyfish, but i hate jellyfish (evil creatures) so I dont know if I'd eat it

and lengua is not bad.. cmon yall

if you haven't tried it, you can't say if its good, that's the rule

Lengua grosses me out because one day my aunt was frying one and it stunk up hte whole house

My neighbors used to make their own balut

just came from dinner from the corner restaurant, they have turkey gravy and stuffing all year long, and they bake their own bread, so its very good

still, not as good as Julia's Turkey ;)

and weird food.. mhh. iguana, buttery rattlesnake, cricket chipotle tacos, stuffed duck feet from the 4real chinese rest here in CLT (awesomeness)

and of course I've eaten tacos from street carts in Meheeco, I'm sure more than once I've had dog or meow meow

After comsuming a few San Miguels I ate five balut. That took my stomach about 4 months to recover

FIVE!?!?! Holy carp!

I once ate a "hamburger" in Bangalore. I ate it inside a dark movie theatre, while watching a movie. It didn't taste like a hamburger. The texture of it in my mouth was not like a hamburger. I was glad I couldn't see it. But still, that is nothing to five balut.

I've had raw conch on a fishing trip off the coast of Belize. Won't repeat that again. Would try it if it was cooked though. I've tried fried alligator which was kind of chewy. Well, not kind of...it was really chewy. Maybe the cook didn't know how to prepare it but I don't feel the need to try it again. Had Sauerbraten in Germany which is a traditional German recipe for horsemeat. I liked it. Had various forms of meat pate in Europe. Have tried various Norwegian ways of consuming fish: smoked, creamed, pickled, etc. Pickled fish for breakfast just isn't my thing. Even had some baleen at a Norwegian restaurant. That's something best left for the whales. Have eaten Reindeer steak, yummy. Buffalo, also good. Lamb is nice as well. Goat cheeses are the bomb. I'll try most things at least once I suppose. I've only ever gotten food poisoning from McDummies.
