Thank you. Ok, so the problem I have now is that I was not planning on listing my condo in the assets section of the I134, though I will have 1098 forms I submitted declaring the interest I paid on both of my mortgages ( on my only property, and it's out of state). What should I do? Good god, please hep me. This is so confusing. Am I going to run into problems if they see the mortgage 1098 forms and I don't list it in my assets? My property is listed as a $15,000 loss this year.

Please help me. This is so confusing. Will this be a problem at the interview? I made $47,000 this year, took in 10,000 in rent from the tenant, and still my gross adjusted income was $35,000 after taking into account interest paid on my two mortgages and home owners association payments (it's the only property I own and it's out of state). I don't know what I should do. I have an adjustable rate interest only loan and the bank denied a mortgage modification, and I can't refinance. I've made all payments on the property. Please help. I was planning on not listing this in the assets section of the I134.

Your federal adjust gross income is what they want to see, not your taxable income, the $35,000 you mention is probably taxable income

We have our k-1 visa interview on March 3rd, and I was told by my lawyer that I would not need to show 2008 taxes (presumably because taxes don't need to be filed until April 15th). She told me 2007, 2006, 2005 returns, letter from employer with current salary and recent pay stub.

Anybody know if this is correct? Pushbrk, can you help?

Thanks!

You need only file a copy of the 1040, and the forms showing income. They have no interest in the details of your rental business. They just need to know that the verifying details are there in case there is a question, but probably there won't be since you are well above the minimum needed to sponsor your fiancee. They are not the IRS :star: and are just interested in the bottom line -- do you qualify or not? Good luck!!

This forum is amazing. Thanks for all of your help. I filed my 2008 taxes today with my tax guy and am now curious as to when I can ask the IRS for my 2008 tax transcripts?

Mormally a copy of your taxes with w-2s is all that is needed. You do not need transcripts.
