Hello,

I need some help here. I am going for a second interview on the 17th of Feb, in Baltimore. We had our first interview on sep 2nd on 2008. The lady was friendly and professional. She asked as general questions like date of births, how we met, Where do we work? We had common proof like bank account, car insurance, health insurance, . We also had a photo album that she didnt even ask to see. She said that we would hear from the shortly. This took 10 minutes.

In jan, we found out that we were going for a second interview? How anyone experienced a second interview?

Please help!

Usually the second interview, a stokes interview, is much more detail oriented. http://www.4immigration.com/index.php?opti...1&Itemid=72

In jan, we found out that we were going for a second interview? How anyone experienced a second interview?

Most of the time, a second interview is conducted if there is some doubt about whether the marriage is bona fide. If they suspect fraud, they will call you for a second interview.

Usually, they separate the couple, and grill them for a while, while possibly video taping the whole thing to examine it later to see the facial expressions and reactions.

It is a serious thing and should not be taken lightly. You should download all the interview questions you can find and study them so your answers match exactly.

I was not approved during our interview. The officer had his mind set not to approve us that day. I had all the documents you can possibly imagine, but he was looking for something to call us back in for a second time. So he asked for additional bank statements from the account I had in my name only, the one which all our bills were being paid from. He also asked for letters from people attesting to our marriage. He handed me an RFE and said that he would call us back in after I mailed him the docs.

So about 1 week after I mailed the documents, he sent us another appointment letter. This time no questions asked. He just said I gave him everything he needed and more (sent him 4 letters from different people, including our next door neighbor who happens to be a sheriff). So he just stamped my passport, gave us instructions for filing I-751 and that was that.

So this is what I tell you.. if you have nothing to fear.. don't worry. If all your documents are up to date and your marriage is legitimate, which I am sure it is.. then don't worry. Just bring everything you guys have together and go for it.

Make sure you also bring your valid passport, I-94s, AP, and work permit (they will stamp your passport and collect the others from you).

Best of luck, let us know what happens.

08/12/08 - Mailed application to CSC (I-485/I-765/I-130)

08/14/08 - CSC received application (confirmed via online signature)

08/21/08 - Notice date by USCIS

08/25/08 - Received NOA1

08/29/08 - Notice of Rejection of 797C Fee (Sent in extra money - money order mailed back.)

Fee waived for I-765 application when filed concurrently with I-130 and I-485.

08/30/08 - Biometrics Apt Notice received

09/13/08 - Biometrics completed and picture taken

11/05/08 - EAD card production ordered

11/07/08 - Received I-485 Interview letter

11/10/08 - EAD card production ordered (again)

11/13/08 - EAD approval notice sent

11/14/08 - EAD arrived in the mail

11/21/08 - I-130 touched and I-485 finally shows up online

12/08/08 - Interview for GC - RFE requested :-(

01/02/09 - Response from RFE received (Form G-56/Call-in Notice Appointment)

01/16/09 - Second Appointment to review application -- APPROVED! :-))) YAY!!!

01/16/09 - AOS card production ordered - E-mail from CRIS

01/22/09 - AOS card production ordered (again) - E-mail from CRIS

01/23/09 - AOS touched

01/24/09 - Received Welcome to the United States letter and approval notice for I-130

01/28/09 - AOS Approval Notice sent - E-mail from CRIS

01/29/09 - AOS touched

01/30/09 - GC arrived in the mail

11/16/10 - Form I-751 filed (Petition for Removal of conditions)

11/19/10 - Application received at VSC

Good luck to you all!! God bless you.

Hi, We had our interview in Baltimore too and the interviewer didn't tell us if we are approved. From what I read here a lot of people don't really get approval on the date of their interview in Baltimore . I was so stressed and worried before and after the interview, because we didn't have bills to show, only our joint accnt, few credit cards, benificiary form and pictures. A friend of mine who filed their application on Oct 2007 and had interview on Feb 2008 and had way much proof than I had, have not recieved her GC and and just had re- schedule for Biometrics again. I was wondering if them too will get 2nd interview. Most of the questions were asked to my husband. the officer was friendly at first and then became serious. A week later we got mail from USCIS that I-130 is approved and I'm still waiting for the approval letter for my AOS.

You may want to check some interview questions on VJ site. I wish you good luck on your 2nd interview.

Hi Alexandria. A friend of mine that I was referred to had they 2nd interview yeasterday in Baltimore. They were interviewd separately. They were asked a lot of personal questions, like what they did last week, who visited them, who cook meal and more... If I were you you, try to be familiarized with individuals habits and other some basic things in your household and sit down with your husband and go through with it, and also bring more proof that you can get. she said the IO was nice and asked her more questions than her husband(USC). You will be fine, just have faith in yourself.

She said they told them that everything is set that they will wait for her biometrics. She has a biometrics schedule 2 days after the interview.
