Biometrics Taken : Yes
Harassment Level : 5
Comments : They didn't ask her one question. The only stressful issue was when they opened the brown envelope she was looking over the counter and they asked her to step back (the officer was training another officer). turns out because of her previous TB and scar on her lung, she has to have a physical at a local doctor specified by the USCIS. which puts a damper on our honeymoon plans

Consulate Review: Manila, Philippines
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : March 1, 2009
Embassy Review : Got there at 5:30am for a 7:00am appt. It rained! People were bunched up outside waiting and it was hard to hear them call out appt times esp when its raining. I got to the line around 6:15am and hence was extremely late. Did not get out til almost noon after the whole process. The whole place was packed even just for the room for K1/K3s. Biometrics was very messy and disorganised. The interview itself was easy, quick and pleasant. I had a lady consulate who is really nice and amicable. She smiled a lot! The prescreener (Filipino) I got was also very nice and comical. He made everyone feel at ease. All in all except for the line outside it was a good experience.
Rating : Very Good

POE Review: Chicago
Event Description
Entry Date : 2008-08-18
Embassy Review : Lines were horrendous at O'Hare immigration. Airline personnel were rude. There was lack of people to inquire where to proceed, there were no signs to indicate immigrant vs non immigrant lines. The immigration officer I had was training another one, I was sort of looking over the counter at what they were doing and he told me to back off! I had to wait about 10 minutes as he did not know what to do re: my tb history. Told his trainee to go to another office to ask. After it was cleared up, I was allowed to go and collect my baggage. The baggage area was a mess, since I was delayed so much at immigration, all the baggage from my flight are out but I could not find them. Turns out since I had balikbayan boxes they were considered oversized and piled up against a wall nowhere near our carousel. Customs was a breeze. Once outside it was a madhouse, packed with people meeting people. And believe me, the lines I left inside were nowhere near half done.
Harassment Level : Moderate

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
