it is easier for a baby to choke if she is laying on her stomach. The trachea is in front of the esophagus. So as long as the infant is on her back or a little elevated, chances are it doesn't get into the airways. If the baby is on her tummy, it is easier to aspirate fluid and choke. Most babies have an internal instinct to turn their heads, but some don't. That's why it is recommended to let them sleep on their backs and only on their stomach when you are close by. I don't know why, but I have always been a little paranoid with that. I've just seen a quite a lot of kids aspirate and choke on their spit up/vomit (none of them fatal). If your baby is sleeping on her tummy be especially careful after a feeding or when they are sick. Elevating the matress helps too.

@ Marm - Thank you for sharing that :( So sorry for your friend.

We just got back from our trip to the zoo. It was WONDERFUL!!! Declan had such a good time. I need to get him to sleep now, so I will try to post pics and write a little more later.

Ben had his 2 months check up today. He's on 50% of lenght, weight and head circumference. He got his shots, poor baby :( But everything else is fine. He's the most average baby, he was born with average weight, he's growing average, so I guess all is well.

Kavi's weight has been average for awhile. He is not a big eater too. At the last visit the Dr said he wanted Kavi to gain a little more weight and to eat more. It's not easy getting him to eat more, he is a snacker. His height is above avg(as is head size hehe), so it makes him look pretty lean. Looking at old photos of me as a baby/toddler, I had a similar look.

Kavi hasn't been to a zoo yet and I am sure he would love it, he loves animals. Every time he sees one he makes oooh and awwwww sounds, so cute. Even if it's on TV.

We are thinking of going to the Florida aquarium in Tampa(an hour or so away) this summer, an indoor place! It's so hot now I can't see us taking Kavi to the zoo and not being able to stay long b/c of the gross heat. :(

I don't like round ligament pain! :crying:

(F) @ Jenn!

I second that. I'm also not too fond of feeling like my pelvis is pulling apart at the seams when I get up from a chair and take a few steps.

Yeah! It wouldn't be so bad if I didn't have to get up every 15 minutes to pee. I can't believe it's only going to get worse!
