he likes to sleep when i'm not sleepy :P i decided to sleep at 11, right after he breastfed. then at 1230 he decided he wanted to eat again, plus diaper change. he kept me awake for over an hour. back to bed, fell asleep, he woke me up again at 3. then tried to sleep, he woke me up at 330. then again at 420, diaper+bf, then he only woke me up at 730.

poor baby, hiccuping again. any tips on how to help him stop? i heard only bf does it.

@Nessa: Breastfeeding helps and don't put him down right after a feeding. Adam used to hiccup everytime I changed his diaper. Apparently babies don't feel pain while hiccuping...they just take it.

@Staashi: def. give the nipple shield a try! I couldn't have done it without these and I was able to wean Ben off of the shield after a while.

@pacifier: I think the nipple confusion thing is overrated. I haven't seen a baby who couldn't bf because of a pacifier. Also new research has linked pacifier use with lower incidences of SIDS. I would just try to not use a paci too often within the first few weeks.

@Kelly: smart to use glucose for numbing Zaid during the circumcision. We used to give newborns a sip of the "sugarwater" before inserting i.v.,'s or lumbal punctures. A lot of the medical staff underestimate the effect this has on a newborn. I was wondering if they do that in the US.

zantac helps a lot

I drink milk straight and take tums, and that helps. But I'll keep the zantac if milk and tums stop doing the trick :)

Caro

I had such horrible heartburn from 24 weeks onward. I just kept eating Tums and eliminated those foods which really bothered me...especially the tomato products. It was hard being on bedrest and carrying twins to not feel miserable in that respect.

AFM: We switched the babies a week ago from Similac Sensitive to the generic Walmart version. Zak seems to have less gas issues on it. Now the only problem...both are constipated because of it. I am now trying to work on that by giving them some water inbetween formula feedings. We'll see how it goes. I think both of them are going through a growth spurt right now as we are going through a big canister of formula every three days. I have told the babies they need to stop growing. I just put them in 3-6 month clothing 2-3 weeks ago and they have already outgrown anything that has feet in this size.

I plan to have our baby shower when I'm around 30 weeks. Is it too early to do the registry?

And another question: are wiper warmers really necessary? Won't it dry the wipes?
