Thanks Nich, I hadn't spell checked because I wrote it all at gone midnight and i had been working all day so was half asleep and i sit way to far from my computer so i can't allways see where I am presssing or what i am typing.

Oh I totally understand. It's the teacher and mama in me that wants to help you get it the best it can be. It's a great idea since the ESTA is new.

Might want to recommend that they register ESTA as soon as they purchase tickets or not leave it too long at least. My bro in law (a brit) missed our wedding cos he couldn't travel on VWP (silly mistake when he was 16 - 34 years ago!) and it was a 3 month wait for an embassy interview.

I also sent the information on ESTA out with wedding invitations, def a good idea so no-one has any nasty surprises at the airport.

I didn't include any information on proving ties to UK, as they will only be coming for a holiday/wedding it didn't seem neccesary...and it would freak them out!

Hey I think my invertation to your wedding got lost in the post haha

Right now I think everyones has got lost in the post, we haven't sent them yet LOL.

I feel really frustraited and stressed about this. I swear they expect me find spell and search everything out for them. including hotels. Areas to look for hotels, visa info. All I ask is they have ago themselves. :( I spelled as much as I can out for them. And I have so much to do.

we got one hotel for everyone to stay in - they gave us a discounted rate as there are a lot of people coming over.. might be worth calling and asking a couple.... then we just emailed everyone details and they just call up, mention the wedding and book a room...

I did it before before going home at Christmas, You need very little information. You can then go back in an update the information as it becomes due. I printed it off and had it with me, but they didn't care at O'hare. It was all a little weird.

I did it before christmas as well, thought it weird that they did not ask for my travel dates

I dont really see the point of it as final decision is at POE, think it is a double check just to see you are valid to use VWP

I'm just providing a list of about 4/5 hotels and a map to our house. both incorporated into the invite. If they don't like the hotels then tough, they can chose their own. Hotels.com is good as they show a map with all the hotels around the location you want. I also had to add for them to bring ID as we are getting married on a military base.

It's also worth telling your guests that they must not remove the stapled green card from their passports at any time while they are in the US. Further, when they depart, they must ensure that the stapled segment is handed over to a Customs and Immigration official. This forms part of the visit record and if you fail to surrender it, you risk a possible denial of future visits.

Some major city airports now handle departures with the fingerprint/retinal scan machines (I know SF does), and not all desk attendants at the gates will accept them so it can involve tracking the right people down. :)
