Oh no :( I just read the guidelines for the passport photos (here on VJ) and now im kinda scared. The passport pictures for the UK are a different size than US passport photos. And my fiance did his picture in the UK, so it is different. Is this going to be a problem?? Will I get an RFE for this? Also, what is the reason that the USC has to send there photo??

USCIS hasn't been as strict on the passport photo size as the Consulates. Get some taken in the right size for the beneficiary and have at least one mailed to you just in case of an RFE but I wouldn't expect one.

Unless the passport photos are like 5 x 7 or something I do not think it will be a problem. If you can "crop" a full face image from the photo in a standard 2x2 size, you will have no problems. Also, they are not very strict about the "within 30 days" thing either. I had studied the whole process before we filed and though I had questions, one thing I understood...there was going to be a LOT of passport photos involved between petition and AOS. When Alla had her photos taken we made a LOT of them and have used the same image throughout the 10 month process and not a word was said of it. Unless there is some signifigant change in appearance.

Hard to crop something that is smaller.... US Standard is 5cm x 5cm and the British is 4.5cm x 3.5 cm

YMMV

Find your nearest Snappy Snaps they do the American size pictures

I remember when I was looking online there are some places in the Uk where you can download a suitable picture of yourself and they will send back the photo to the US standards

Australian passport photo size is also different to the US so when I went to get my passport photo taken for a visa they asked if which country it was for and I mentioned the US so they just cropped it to fit US requirements which they already knew...
