Changing internet settings to US

Hi. I just emigrated to the States and while using the internet, many sites that have both a US and UK branch will automatically change to the UK site and there seems to be no way to get onto the US site. What do I need to do to change settings on my computer so I no longer get taken to the UK websites?

Go to control panel.

Find regional and language options. Open it.

On XP you will see at the bottom of the window that opens--- Location:

On Vista there's a tab for Location.

Change to the United States.

Don't change your keyboard layout or other things like that if you're still using a UK keyboard.

There's also in that area a place to change how numbers, dates, and time are shown. You can change to United States and that will not change your keyboard layout. It will just make todays date 01-21-2009 instead of 21-01-2009 (or however British Computers show it.)
