I do not believe that for one second. If Obama does manage to stop and possibly reverse the mess Bush has created, I will not blame George II one bit. I will place the blame for such outcome squarely on the shoulders of the deserving culprit and his administration.

As much as I dislike Obama and his potential policies, I can't realistically praise or bash the guy. He has yet to sit in the Oval Office as our presiding President of the United States. Until such time I see his actions as POTUS, I'll refrain from making definitive judgments.

One thing that hasn't/won't change is getting an extremist to actually think outside their box. My gosh--I am not sure if it because of her age or her bias but...spew, spew, spew. I guess she has been filled up with so much vitreol that it must come out.

Anything that starts off at the outset with divisive (and totally unjustified, frankly) fingerpointing gets a big from me.

What is it with these commentators? I mean, we're (most of us at any rate) down with the idea of free speech and that a person can say idiotic and ridiculous things to their hearts content - but seriously... why is it that people like this are allowed to define national political debates? Why are they given such prominence in our media and quoted as if their word has any authority?

With blog sites and it being relatively easy these days even for grandpa to put himself out there - but surely there's a difference between grandpa, and a journalist with some education in politics who actually knows what is going on. A downside of all these new technologies is that good, insightful commentary gets lost amid a sea of ignorant sewage.

Personally I think that Obama will turn out to be a Tony Blair - he'll talk a good game, fix some issues, fudge others and cause a lot of resentment on still more. Of course he's going to disappoint in some respects, I mean... given the pre and post-election hype how could he not?

No - you're right. There is blame to go around. But I don't recall a time when Congress or the Senate went on TV and lied to my face about the reasons we went to war etc. (not that it didn't happen, I just do not recall it happening)

Bush baby on the other hand made a career out of it. The only political crime I can think of that is worse is to sit back and say that it is OK cause they're politicians and it's what they do. I speak repeatedly about getting involved in your local politics and replacing, where necessary, those politicians that do not act in your best interests. On the national scene there is little doubt that George II f*cked up in a major way. But as you pointed out, he is not alone. So it is our job to give the next President the best people to correct the course of our nation. Quit b!tchin' and act!

The Bush bashers went from critizing everything the president does to working toward silencing all Obama criticisms even before the guy is in White House. The idea that citizens should STFU unless they hold public office is moronic and tyrannical. Obama supporters better learn how to defend their buddy better than this or Obama is going to be a one-time president.

Well from my vantage point the right wingers blindly supported an awful President & have proceeded to nit-pick everything Obama does & employ the usual rhetoric & bias. Like I have said countless times my dislike of Bush is based on what he did, while the right wingers have already impeached Obama (in their minds) before he's even in office. I think we need to agree to disagree on this, since our versions of the "truth" are miles apart.
