I'm from Manila, and I love to swim a lot and doing scuba diving. My family loves to go out of town, going to the beach to swim and snorkling. When I was a kid I remember when we had a school break, My mother will bring me to her province in Laguna where she was born, she even let my siblings to swim in the river in running water from the Banahaw mountain. Oh my, it was a nature place...that is what I miss in PI. Especially going to Bonito Island in Batangas where I hang every weekend.

Yea my girl can barely swim. Just enough not to sink, but not enough to keep her head above the surface for more than a few moments. She can manage with a mask and snorkel at least until the mask leaks too much. We got her a life vest though, and she LOVES to snorkel now! The funny thing is that when I free dive it freaks her out. Seeing me disappearing 2way below her in crystal clear water makes her feel like she is going to fall! When she gets here we'll have to get her proper lessons, 'cause I don't even remember how I learned.

Ironic  .....i grew up in the beautiful isle of batanes but ....i only managed to learn swimming under water - funny but once i stick my head out , i sink in....i used to envy my cousins who were really good swimmers.... however since i have never lost interest in swimming..... aptly it is here in the desert (uae) that i learn to really swim....under and on top of the water. Well...i first did it in the pool but lately when we go beach camping- i had prgress from thereon. But iam still scared of the big waves so....i think id remain swimming in pool or lake- not really that confident yet anyway but i am dying to overcome my fear of the waves/ or deep sea.

Looks like a great place to Bass Fish.

It would be cool to drag a Buzzbait thru there early in the morning.

A Rapala jointed shad rap topwater lure will get you a 2 pounder in a jiffy! :star:

You dont' know too much about bass fishing. Can't believe a Filipino Californian knows more about bass baits than a pair of Texans. Listen, boys, the best bait in lily pads and heavy vegetation is a weedless spoon dressed with a skirt of nylon, pork rind or plastic.:thumbs:

I grew up living next to the beach but I never learned how to swim. I did apply as a flight steward on different airlines before and the only downfall is I cant swim  Funny but true,, I am not afraid on water but my greatest dream is to learn how to swim.. Probably when I get the chance one day, I will enroll swimming lesson.
