I know what you mean about Germany, they had a few defensive slips, and Costa Rica took full advantage of them. If they let the same slips again against a better team they could be in for some trouble. But hey, at least they won.

Yup, they did. And that's awesome because it's a step in the direction of the 1/8-final. The defense is the Achilles heel of the German team, but if they can continue to play a strong game for the next few matches they should manage that problem as well. Most of the defensive players are young and haven't played together often enough.

I'm just feeling the need to engage in the German national pasttime of complaining about the team. It didn't feel right to watch the game in the US because whereas in Germany fans would have heaped abuse on their team while celebrating the victory, here no one seemed to be interested in anything but cheering for the team.

I know what you mean, I'm British. We do the same with our team, too. I just wanted to show a bit of friendship to our old rivals and current hosts. ;)

I would try to get to a pub, if I knew of a British one showing the footie here in Salt Lake, but I'm not sure where they are, if there are any. But my husband will watch it with me tomorrow, so I'm sure it'll be fun. Some of my siblings might be online, too.

You did. Thanks. As to the rivalry, I have nothing against England unless they're playing Germany. I'm definitely cheering for them tomorrow morning.

robinlake, you're lucky. There's no German pub anywhere around here. I like the international audience, but I wish they could be more passionate about mistakes...

I thought Germany Did well. Their defence slips sometimes. They are living by the offsides trap. That is very dangergous.

I always say, the team that lives by the trap.. usaly dies by the trap. They got burned twice on the trap. Costa Rica got lucky on the second goal cause the Refs missed it.

The goals by Germany were well done. Costa Rica's Keeper blew the third one, he should of deflected to the side or away from the pack. The first and fourth goals, He had 0 percent of getting it. they were well placed goals. Nothing he could do about that.

I was thinking about the game announcers, i dont like the American ones on ESPN. they are chopF##Ks

I like the british announcer Toby Charles. He is very good.

Where can I hear his broadcast on the American tv.

Thanks
