We haven't filed for K-1 visa yet. I want her to apply for tourist visa so she can visit me before we start our K-1 process. If she gets denied for tourist visa, would it affect us when we file for K1?

Not unless she misrepresents herself in the process.

Denial of a NON-Immigrant visa has no effect on the processing through the immigrant visa unit at the consulate, unless the reason for denial is due to an inadmissibility reason that would also apply to an immigrant visa.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

For personal experience (I was denied a Tourism Visa) I can tell you that as long as she doesn't lie on the Forms or to the Consular, a denied Tourism Visa is not a problem for K1 Visa. They didn't even mention it during my interview! Good Luck!
