Julian,

Congrats for your SSN arrival! May I ask was it your first time to apply for it or you changed ur name into married name like me? I'm just wondering how long it will take them to verify my name before I can get my card in hand again. I'm in the middle of house buying (just sold my house in HK) and just dunno if they will need my card to register anything...worst case I guess I will just let my hubby own the house alone first! He will own all of my everything!!!! DUH!! (jk)

Glo, it was the second time I applied for SSN card (the first time I got it for my maiden name before the wedding). I applied on 27 March and the date the card was issued is 1 April - so, it actually took them only 3 days to verify my name but for some reason it took another 10 days to be mailed to me. I hope you will get your pretty soon.

Shes, when I applied for SSN they didn't tell me that they couldn't verify my name, but they did told me that I would get my card in 4 weeks and gave me the paper saying the same thing (actually, the paper said it might take up to 4 weeks). But it appeared to much quicker than that :)

Yes, I could see my status online then (my cases appeared in the system even before my fingerprints taken).

Wishing you to get yours soon!!!

Shes,

Am a first time SSN applicant. We went to SSA in Houston last Monday. They said their system was down that day , I was given a letter that says: They still need to verify my status with DHS and it will take up to 4-6 weeks before I will recived the actual SS card.

I hope it will be soon. We need the SSN badly for tax purposes ( We just applied for extension to file since the deadline is coming up)!

Then again...Our journey continues...

Hey Guys

Thank you to everyone for the wishes. I got my 130 approval notice and Welcome notice yesterday. Wish everyone with upcoming interveiws the best of luck!!

zoharulz: WOW! Congrats, the physical permanent residency card will soon arrive. Great news.:dance::dance:

Althea: Congrats on EAD! makasugod najud ka ngita trabaho day

JulianDavid: Congrats on the interview date and the SSN, it seems we always follow each others AOS development. hopefully, i will follow and receive the SSN also though they told me it might take 4-8weeks. :star:

Got the dreaded request for information. Birth date incorrect on application. Correction necessary. Anyone experience this set back to EAD? How long these tings take?

USCIS usually resume processing immediately after receiving response to RFE. Some people get adjudicated in 1-2 weeks after USCIS receive RFE response.

I hope it won't take long in your case and you will receive your EAD and interview letter soonest.

yeah, i have had some issues with SSA, the latest was with them not being able to verify my status but they were able to verify my kids status. The SSA lady was very helpful and said my kids SSN card will arrive 10days to 2weeks. She said they will try their best to verify my status so my SSN could follow right after my kids. My son's SSN card arrived last thursday and I think my daughter's card will follow this week... hopefully my own SSN card will also arrive this week... and hopefully, you will recieve yours also soonest.

I don't think the SSA office are to blame for this problem, i would assume it has more to do with the USCIS having problem with their system that causes all these.

Got the dreaded request for information. Birth date incorrect on application. Correction necessary. Anyone experience this set back to EAD? How long these tings take?

Thanks

I got a one too almost a month ago...they told me that it does put your EAD process on hold. So basically you count from the day your request was issued till the day they receive your packet. Then add that to your 90 days and you have the amount of time it could take. The good news is that you can call on your 90 days (some people say 75 but I have been told 90 several time by USCIS) and ask for a service request on your case. That's what I get to do in the morning because it is my 90 day mark. Wish us luck =) and hopefully you hear some good news soon!
