That's the thing, eh? The lefties can't seem to get it through their heads that no matter what we do or how we act, TERRORISTS HATE US. Sure, it would be great if we could just sit down with the terrorists and talk to them nicely, tell them we love them. Except that, you know, they would still want to saw our heads off whatever the outcome.

Yes, he and others on this thread act as if Americans made them into terrorists and pumped their head full of info. on how to do this and how to that. When in reality they have their own training camps and have their own thought processes to do what they are going to do anyways. They dislike our politics before 9/11 before the Iraq invasion and we did not force them to hate us. You see young Iraq children exhibiting the same sadistic behaviour their elders do and carry guns and chant hatred towards the US. They will hate Americans for generations to come & til the end of time and no compromise will be sought. Those people will NEVER be reasoned with. Get it through your head. I gurantee all of you who don't support Zarqwi's demise if you were to go over there and try to befriend one will surely be laughed at and be tortured on video for the world to see and your words would be absolutley meaningless to them. Secondly, your entire "Red Dawn" point is totally invalid because you are automatically assuming that the Iraqis liked Saddam, yet you also point out how he crushed rebellions.

Saddam is responsible for the deaths of 1.4 to 1.7 million people. In addition he repeatidly broke U.N. resolutions.

You also never responded to my posts that called you on the carpet over your Zarqawi = G. Washington comments, and the death statistics I pulled up. Afraid of the truth?

I had a feeling that was what you meant by your question, which is why I held off answering it from the perpective of the US being invaded, but rather how the Iraqi people are feeling with US troops on the ground over there.

I myself am a 12 year veteran, and am currently working for the MDA (Missile Defense Agency) and BMD (Ballistic Missile Defense) agencies through a contractor. I have worked either directly, or indirectly for the DoD for 24 years, and I have worked with the Navy, Army, and Air Force. It's one thing to "talk to talk", as opposed to "walk the walk". I know there are some other veterans posting in this thread, but for those of you who have never been in the military, please don't preach about the military and the government to those of us who have.

These same people who have spent hours on end here defending Zarqawi ..........a member of Al Qaeda, the group directly responsible for the attacks on 9/11........with some of the most inane nonsense as well as misinformation....... would also probably be the first people to have their OWN heads lopped off if they ever decided to take a nice stroll through Iraq and went up and and tried to befriend some of these swell people they are spending paragraph upon paragraph defending.

Amazing, that on a day when one of the central figures of Al Qaeda gets blown away, the very first instinct some of the people here have is to come on here and spend so much time and effort defending his actions.

It`s a pretty sad statement, and it`s not hard to wonder why these terrorists attacking us feel Americans are so weak minded. Who can blame them when you see the stupidity of some of these posts on here?

Hopefully if they ever decide to make a trip to New York city, they at least have the good sense to keep their mouths shut and don`t go around repeating some of this stuff they`re spewing here online. .....or I am sure it won`t be too long before someone decides to shut it for them.

I did read the thread, and the focus of the debate was not that Zarqawi was a "wonderful" human being, or that his death is some sort of tragedy.

We oust Saddam, in doing so (because noone secured the country's borders) we let in many of the foreign terrorists we are now fighting.

That's quite apart from whether or not the war was a 'good idea'.
