No, you file the same way as anyone else. My fiance did not need to involve the military with his petition.

Hello i am in the military and about to file for a I-129f and i was just wondering if i needed to get any special forms or anything. I have not talked to anyone in the military i would rather keep them out of it if that is possible.

Same forms as everyone else but USCIS does have a hotline specifically for military & if you are being deployed or are in a unit that has a strong possibility of being deployed you can apply for an expedited petition (with a good chance of approval).

Anybody that is in the Military serving this country deserves an Approval.

True, but the approval I was referring to is approval of the expedite. The petition still needs to pass the smell test to be approved.

We don't qualify for one either but we don't mind waiting just like everyone else. We don't believe we should be pushed to the front of the line just because he his military.

I don't believe in being pushed to the front of the line either, I am happy waiting in line just like everyone else, gives me time to plan the wedding!

Are you deployed? If so, depending on the deployment, keeping them out may be difficult.

Be careful, some military commands require you notify the Commanding Officer of any marriage to a non-US citizen.

You may want to swing by your command's legal department to make sure - would be a shame to go through the whole process and have your command put a stop on the whole thing!

(I'm ex-US Navy btw)

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

WARNING: Phrases in this post may sound meaner than they were intended to be. Read the Adjudicator's Field Manual from USCIS
