BE WHO YOU ARE AND SAY WHAT YOU FEEL, BECAUSE THOSE WHO MIND DONT MATTER AND THOSE WHO MATTER DONT MIND

YOU CANT CHANGE THE PAST BUT YOU CAN RUIN THE PRESENT BY WORRYING OVER THE FUTURE

TRIP.... OVER LOVE, AND YOU CAN GET UP

FALL.... IN LOVE, AND YOU FALL FOREVER

I DO HAVE THE RIGHT TO REMAIN SILENT, JUST NOT THE ABILITY

LIKE THE MEASLES, LOVE IS MOST DANGEROUS WHEN IT COMES LATER IN LIFE

LIFE IS NOT THE WAY ITS SUPPOSED TO BE, ITS THE WAY IT IS

I MAY NOT BE WHERE I WANT TO BE BUT IM SURE NOT WHERE I WAS

which is faster/easierk1 or k3?she is from mexico and i am us citizen.

I always hear that the K1 is quicker than the K3.

For the K1 visa, from the day you send in the I-129F package until the day you receive your visa could be anywhere from a 4-8 month wait, with 6-7 months being most common (at least from the time lines I have noticed). Just don't look at my time line as an example of an average K1 visa wait, my case was an exception to the rule (15 month wait)

...Had we not encountered some technical difficulties, we would have got the visa 7 months after filing for the K1

There are two issues that make the K1 "faster" for anybody who has not yet made a decision.

1. The petition can be filed without waiting to arrange a marriage and obtain an official marriage certificate.

2. The I-130 must be filed and NOA1 received before the I-129F for spouse can be filed and the clock starts.

If you count from I-129F petition mailing to interview, given the same Consulate, you'll find the averages have historically been quite similar but why count that way. Currently, however K3's seem to be taking a couple months longer from filing to visa anyway.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...
