Hi All ....

I just wanted to wish Bob and Patricia good luck for Friday .... I hope the interview goes well for both of you!

I'm just putting the finishing touches to my packing ... my flight is at 6am tomorrow morning ....

This is such a confusing time for me. On one hand, I'm so happy to be going to Iowa to marry Steve - after three years of waiting - but on the other, I'm so sad to be leaving my family. I know everything will be fine and that they will visit us and we will visit them .... I'm just going to miss them so much .... They have been so supportive about the whole visa process - they just want me to be happy ....

Och, I'm being a silly woman again .... how can I be homesick already? I haven't even gone yet!!

Take care everyone ... I'll be back online in a few days once I've settled ....

Wishing FAST visas for all those waiting .....

Moira x

Good luck Bob and Pat!!!!

Moira...I am 7 weeks from leaving and I already feel torn right down the middle about leaving my family. It's normal.

Good luck, by the time you read this, you'll already be there :-)

Moira... You'll do fine. Like you said a few weeks back, you got the family sorted out with yahoo and web cams. There will be chat times and holidays spent together. Have a great POE!

Everyone else, thanks for the well wishes. We're getting ready to catch the train to London. Planning on doing the tourist thing this afternoon and evening, then kick some tail at the embassy @9.

Will drop a line on here when we can find a WiFI hotspot tomorrow afternoon.

Good Luck PJ&JAM for tomorrow!

Bob, I'll wave out of the window of the plane when we pass each other next Wednesday! :D

You'll be absolutely fine at the interview..easy peasy, lemon squeezy!

I'm leaving Chicago Tuesday evening and it's an overnight flight landing at MAN 7:20am. I may be stuck in passport control again so I'll wave to you from there. ;)

Bob

I was waving my fool head off but nobody waved back so I guess we missed each other. Hope you had a good POE, Pat and I will be sure to pick your brains on the experience.

I got through passport control w/o a hitch yesterday, although it was shaky for a few seconds. Again was the question of the relationship with the friend I had come to visit. As I said 'fiancee', I'm expecting a whole line of questions related to that and to be motioned to the glass holding room again. Instead, to my surprise, he only said, "Don't ever let her hear you call her a 'friend' again mate."

Hi people :)

So it's a little over two weeks till my interview but things are sooooo crazy with work and Im moving out of my house this weekend, so I just wanted to run my interview list of information by you all to see if I have missed anything.

I am feeling more than a little brain addled at the present time and was hoping fresh experienced eyes will notice any glaring ommisions that I am, at present, unable to see.

For Me:

Appt Letter

Police Cert (and copy)

Birth Cert (and copy)

Passport

Proof of relationship (photo's of us with family, emails etc)

American sized passport photo's (to be obtained the night before the interview when i arrive in london)

David

I-134 (With I DO intend ticked)

A notarized copy of the Tax return just sent

Previous 2 years tax returns with w2's

Employer Letter stating permanancy, length and renumeration of his position

Pay stubs for April and May

It doesn't look like very much does it???? Am i missing something. I'm sure I'm not. I was never previously married (he was but proof of that divorce was in the initial petition)

Fresh eyes....HELP! I'm going into panic mode now. So much is going on and I am scared of missing something. I figure if I miss something now, I will have time to sort it.

Thanks in advance for your patience and assistance

Frazzled....Ellie

What about cash? With the card machines down lately, you might want to plan on having enough of that, or even exact change. Otherwise, I think that's about all that we have, or at least all I know about. Nik may have gathered more things himself. :)

Just a comment:

Tax returns do not need to be notarized. This somehow popped up on VJ and is repeated a lot...

From the I-864 instructions (Part 6, point #25):

You must provide an IRS transcript or a photocopy from your own records of your federal individual income tax return for the most recent tax year.

...

You are not required to have the IRS certify the transcript or photocopy unless specifically instructed to do so by a Government official; a plain transcript or photocopy is acceptable.

Not that I think yours being notarized is a problem...no need for him to shoot off a "clean" copy. The comment is more intended for those-who-come-after. No need to try to find someone/pay someone to notarize this part.

K-1:

January 28, 2009: NOA1

June 4, 2009: Interview - APPROVED!!!

October 11, 2009: Wedding

AOS:

December 23, 2009: NOA1!

January 22, 2010: Bogus RFE corrected through congressional inquiry "EAD waiting on biometrics only" Read about it here.

March 15, 2010: AOS interview - RFE for I-693 vaccination supplement - CS signed part 6!

March 27, 2010: Green Card recieved

ROC:

March 1, 2012: Mailed ROC package

March 7, 2012: Tracking says "notice left"...after a phone call to post office.

More detailed time line in profile.

Thanks for the reply. Yes...and lots of cash. I will make sure I take some of that in with me when I go incase those machines are down. Any left over is for shopping afterwards. Completely by chance a friend of mine is going shopping in London that day so I am going to catch up with her after the interview is over.

We only got ours notarized because Dave had enquired about it months ago and found a fella down the post office who was willing to do it free of charge but I have since read that it's not a neccesity.

Again, thanks for casting a fresh pair of eyes over this. We have been collecting this evidence forever and I'd hate to fall at the last hurdle because I was having a dizzy moment.

Ellie, just as Nik+Heather mentioned....and you are good to go, don't stress! We had been prepared for a long long time before the interview (as it had to keep getting rescheduled) and even then we were hit with a bout of nerves, I guess its natural, but when you have time to breathe and think rationally, you KNOW that you are well-prepared and good to go  !

Good luck on POE's and interviews!!

Sorry I haven't been around too much, busy with finishing uni and seeing friends!

Ellie, everything looks fine. I know it's easy to panic, I posted the same thing when I was in your position. I ended up taking TOO MUCH to the interview. They barely looked at anything.
