First of all, Oleg passed!!

Here's the experience, from his words:

We had an appointment for 10:30 AM . We got to the office around 10:15 AM, with 5 min to go through security. After checking in at Window 6, he was directed to the 2nd floor, and I was asked to wait downstairs.

He was invited in at around 11:30AM, sworn in, and then the lady asked to see Oleg's documents. She went through questions on the application. She wanted him to confirm his trips since the time the app was submitted. She also wanted to see a proof of income taxes (although those were sent in), and residency/relationship (bank statements, copy of Auto policy). She did not want to see any pictures. She also asked the copy of Information letter from Selective Service.

Then came the questions. He was asked and said he wanted an old test. She asked all 10 questions, although he got the first 6 right. Had questions about Bill of Rights, Consitution, Independence Day, President, Governor..

Then, she asked him to write and read 2 sentences (I drive to work every day, I drink too much coffee). The lady had an accent, so in the process of interview he had to ask her to repeat a couple of times.

Finally, she marked his paper with the check next to "Congratulations!..." box, and told him to wait for a letter inviting him to the Oath (4-6 weeks)

Whoo-hoo!!! We are done!!

She also asked the copy of Information letter from Selective Service.

Thanks for the update. Was he required to register with Selective Service? My Interview letter asked for Evidence of Selective Service even though I much older than the upper ceiling of the required age. Thanks -pB

Yes, he was.. He came to the States when he was 25.5 y.o, so we got him registered. I called in to Selective Service to get them to mail a writtem proof of the registration and the date.

My assumption is that if you came to the US after the age of 26, that point on the document stack would be non-applicable.
