Pfft. When one family lives an ocean apart from the other, someone is always going to get the short end of the stick. One Christmas we spend with his family, the other with mine. It will probably never happen that both families spend Christmas together.

My family is so massive we never have set plans for anything when it comes to holidays. We have doctors and nurses that have to work on holidays sometimes and then everyone else also has to go to someone else's house as well. Last year we celebrated Christmas mid January and the year before that we did it a week before Christmas. None of us really care as long as we get to spend some time with all 26 of us together

I have all my family here but my husband spent the early part of December in Colombia and spent it with his family because flying even a week before or after Christmas is over $1100.

I haven't missed a Christmas with my wife since I met her, fortunately as bad as Venezuela is, they do give their people off for extended days for Christmas.

Oh those military days, Christmas was the loneliest day of the year for us, feel sorry for the guys fighting for us now.

Can look at Christmas as being just another day, and equally painful as any other day, when you are away from your loved ones. Then ask, why is this happening and what can I do about it!!!

i decided since, i live not too far away to allow the lesser seniority employees, who have to travel have the week off..one is going to new york..etc..so, they have a ways to go..

My fiance is working at Christmas, it sucks for him as he hasn't had one american holiday this year. We are just looking forward to next Christmas.

my brother and his wife and my nephew are coming down for a week around Christmas.. I am looking forward to finally meeting my nephew who just turned one back in October..

Yep, I will fly on the 20th and leave on the 4th.

I am sooo happy. We have been two weeks apart then. I really dont know how to go through this 6 months.....
