Great movie, but the beef that I have with it is little Fred Savage and Grandpa sittin there reading the story. Too much Never Ending Story/'80s fairy tale for me. That said, the chicks dig this movie and it's a no-brainer when it comes to sittin on the couch "not watching" a movie with a lady.

I'm going to go ahead and nominate Tombstone. Pound for pound, the best modern Western around when it comes to quotable lines.

Couldn't agree with you more about Tombstone, one of the best westerns there is. I love the scene where Kurt cross the river, guns blazing, and Powers says 'Will you look at that'. Then later, after the battle, the two side-kicks say "You ever seen anything like that?" and the other replies "Hell, I ain't never even HEARD of anything like that". Classic.

I just picked up the 20th anniversary DVD this weekend. I've had a bootleg VHS copy for years, and finally decided it was time to upgrade.

And you know what I just realized? The dude that played Inigo Montoya is also the dude that played Rube on Dead Like Me, the Showtime series where the characters were Reapers. I only realized it after seeing the interviews on the DVD. I knew something about him seemed so damn familiar to me!

Same actor (Mandy Patinkin) was Sam Francisco in the TV version of V (Alien Nation).

I actually liked that part. That was back when Fred Savage was cute, and Peter Falk is just concentrated win. I grew up on Columbo, and if there is an actor with better timing and screen presence I haven't seen him.

I'll third Tombstone. And I'm not sure how quotable it is (I can't think of any) but Unforgiven ranks pretty high up on my list of modern westerns too.

It is a little hard at time, when you are 3500 miles apart. (8 months and counting) You just e-mail several times a day. chat on windows live and sometimes use the camera and voice mike( so you can see each other smile, laugh and cry). Yes, cry our eyes out. I'm a grown adult and 63 years old. Yes I cry a lot, because this process is so stupid.] We try to keep each other going the best we can. Still have a long way to go. So our date nights with the wife and two boys will have to wait a while.
