cmnb,

VFS is place where you submit courier fee and all your interview documents. checkout there website for more detail. https://www.vfs-usa.co.in/Home.aspx

Ask your wife to contact them for regarding type of docs she has to submit 7-10 days prior to interview.

Good luck!

I've looked thru the website and I'm confused.

If all the necessary docs are submitted to the NVC in the US beforehand (i.e. DS-230, marriage certificates, police clearance, etc), then what's left to submit at VFS?

Should we be submitting additional proof of continuing relationship at the VFS, so the consular doesn't give you a 221g for not enough evidence??

Please advise.

Looking through the website, my understanding is that at VFS u submit copy of interview letter, medical report, courier fee and proof of relationship documents eg: pictures, affidavits, etc.

OK GUYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is going to sound VERY VERY WEIRD...........

I just called NVC and they told me that " YOUR CASE IS COMPLETE":dance::dance: ...............PLEASE DON"T SEND ANY DOCUMENTS....

I am not sure if these guys as NVC also know what exactly they want.......

ALL SAID DONE I AM SO HAPPY THAT I MIGHT GET A MARCH INTERVIEW...............

And if you want to send w2...just write a letter with it stating that you don't have all the docs to file the tax return and to consider only the W2

Let me de-mystify VFS - It's simply a 'facilitation' service and hence the name 'Visa Facilitation Service'. What is mandatory (for CR1 cases) is that you submit Rs. 394 for the courier fee and a copy of the applicant's passport. The rest can be carried along in the interview. Visit the South Asia forum for more discussion on this.

Hello Everyone...

I am a bit confused about the NVC scheduling interview dates only on the 2nd week of each month!!!! What does it suppose to mean?

Say for example, I am done by the february 22nd or so...I will have to wait untill second week of march to get an interview date .. apparently which will be on End of April while my case was done way ago?

If that is the case, what will happen if I have k3 interview scheduled on March 20, 2009, and NVC tries to schedule it on the mid March???

My goodness, I am never gonna save any time anyways from here I can see that.....

Soniasharmin,

The NVC only schedules CR-1 cases in the second week of the month. So this months window opens from 2/9 to 2/13 where they will be scheduling March interviews. During this week NVC will schedule interviews based on the number of open appointments given to them from the Dhaka Embassy. If your case is not completed by next week the chances of getting a March interview are slim and you need to wait until the next scheduling which would be second week of March for April interview.

It does not seem you have a K-3 interview scheduled. I am not 100% sure how the process works with the Bangladeshi Consulate. But let's say you have a K-3 interview scheduled in March 20, 2009, and you're still in the CR-1 process which you are. You can either

1) Forget K-3 entirely and just continue CR-1. This is the stress free option

2) Get a K-3 date, and complete CR-1 case as soon as possible even if you don't make the Feb interview scheduling. You then hope that NVC will schedule your CR-1 case in 2nd week of March and forward the case to Dhaka before your K-3 date. Once the CR-1 is in the Dhaka Consulate before the K-3 date, you need to notify Dhaka Consulate about this and they are required to issue a CR-1 visa instead of a K-3. March 20 may be cutting a bit close but say your K-3 is a week after that or in April you will have a much more comfortable cushion of time for NVC to send the file and for it to get there before the K-3 interview. It's clear that this is the more complicated options.

I hope this helps.

if you use a big commercial bank like BOA or chase or wachovia or citibank your payment should most likely be cleared by tomorrow morning.
