AOS FILERS: DECEMBER 2008

I heard having a house together is a strong evidence of bonafide marriage. Some people are able to apply for removal of conditions earlier if they have a house or a son together...

But not a daughter? :bonk: I've never heard that...I can't imagine it's the case...otherwise everyone would buy houses and have kids immediately so they could file for removal of conditions. I thought the only thing that warranted an early removal was divorce or death of the USC.

Buying a house is a big commitment and is not easy getting approved for a loan as well, have to have the down payment ready and have excellent credit score. So not everyone can do that.

I noticed in the spreadsheet that only me and Piyanet&Dan mailed our AOS on Dec. 9, and neither of us got a biometrics appointment already (don't know though if Piyanet&Dan updates his/her timeline). While there are some other filers (K1 based) who mailed their AOS later than Dec. 9 but have done their biometrics already. This confuses me. I thought the processing is on a first come-first served basis.

Hi Itty Bitty

I am not updating the spread sheet but I am updating the timelime.

We went for the biometric appointment today. I dropped Piyanet off at the door because we

were 10 minutes late due to Boston traffic.

She was out in less than 15 minutes. Everyone was very nice to her!

Dont worry- you will get it soon.

We just did it...it isn't super difficult. :) You can ask around, but I have never heard of anyone having their lifting conditions expedited. There isn't really any reason to expedite it without a major family change. It doesn't give you any additional benefits other than your green card expiring in 10 years instead of 2.

I meant a child, in general! :P I am the foreigner in the couple, as you can see!

anyway, I read it somewhere but I guess we should not write things unless we have links... ;)

I think both are big things, and personally I wouldn't buy a house or have children only to remove conditions.

Congrats!

Don't worry too much about it. Touches don't really mean anything and there is no standard for it. When we were waiting for our K1 you would see some people get touched a couple of times a month, but not see any approval...then other people wouldn't have a single touch until they got approved.

Hey everyone, last night we were driving to get some dinner and found out that our cheque was cashed. Hopefully we'll get the NOAs soon. It's been kind of stressful since it's been raining like crazy in WA and most of our mail was getting soaked. I had to wrap garbage bags around my mailbox and line it with flyers! Hope nothing important gets wet :D

Thank you! I've received no e-mails either, I'm crossing my fingers that I don't get an RFE for anything! I was reading the RFE thread and some people get them for typing "N/A" instead of "none" and I can't recall if I did that so I am worrying always about it. They are so darn picky over at USCIS!!

Eek...seriously? I'm going to have to check when I get home...I hope we didn't do that anywhere! We went over the packet like 5 times before we sent it off, so I really hope we don't get an RFE.

I read it somewhere in this thread:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=4725

I looked over the package so many times as well, but don't think I would have noticed the N/A thing.... I guess it depends on who is working your case and how strict they are.

My husbands biometrics appointment is complete! This was the easiest thing we have done with this whole process! There was no one in the office when we went at noon, so we were out of there by 12:10. Maybe now there will be some movement with our case. :innocent:

Removal of Conditions

12/24/10 - Mailing I-751 Package!

12/27/10 - Package received at Vermont Service Center

12/31/10 - Check cashed

01/04/11 - Received NOA dated 12/28/10

01/27/11 - Bio Appointment (COMPLETE)

05/23/11 - Approved! Card Production Ordered!

Thanks Aravis!

I just checked my status and they said on January 6, I was transfered to California Service Center, I will receive a notification on why they did that!.

Itzy

No worries about that. :) Everyone gets transferred...either to CSC (California Service Center) or to their local office. Getting transferred to CSC means you won't have an interview. :) Congrats again!

Sorry if this is really a noob question, but im not really understanding how getting transferred to CSC means no interview. doesnt everyone need to interview? or are there some people that dont need to have an interview? if this is so is it just random luck?
