Pressure cookers

Ha, looked for that iron on ebay, price was okay, but that S&H was a killer. Isn't S&H part of the price you pay for an item? Or am I missing the boat on this?

I did get the pressure cooker from local walmart a couple of days ago :)

Did go with the exact product number I found from their site and it was easy. We also decided to keep the slow cooker/crock pot to ourself and not exchange it, as a matter of fact I am trying my first soup in that slow cooker today, will take another 4 hours of wait and don't know how it will turn out.

S&H has to be taken into account. Not all deals on ebay are 'deals' necessarily.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

I always thought cooking rice was simple...wifEy tells me we need a Sanyo or Panasonic "computerized" rice cooker.

http://tinyurl.com/ricey

They range from $100 to $300 bucks.....but I've learned that she has good taste...and the most expensive is often the cheapest in the long-run.

Some day I may post pics of the bathroom remodel...including the $700 Toilet SEAT (not the entire toilet, just the seat).

Gents reading this thread, read my lips...."Happy wife, happy life" :)

like I mentioned earlier in this thread I have a 10 dollar rice cooker and it works great.. ..

I hate cooking rice on our gas stove... it never comes out right... the rice cooker is so simple.. just chuck everything in and turn it on...

That must be why my rice never comes out right. I started buying the 90 second microwave pouches and I love them.

To the OP- I say get your pressure cooker and keep the crock pot as well. Crock pots are great for so many things and so easy to use.

Edit to add: just noticed your post that you did keep the crock pot! Hope the soup is great!

I don't think I can be called an elitist with only a 10 dollar cheapo rice cooker

yeah I had no problem cooking rice on an electric stove... but the gas only heats one area of the pot and the rice just never comes out right, usually the water cooks off before the rice is cooked

yeah I do use rice-a-roni etc.. and I have no problems cooking that on the stove.. but sometimes I like to have just plain white rice...

I love my Pampered Chef rice cooker. I think it was $20. I don't have to measure the rice...I just use the Asian fingertip method for adding water. Pop the cooker in the microwave and it's done in 20 minutes. Cooking on the stovetop requires paying attention to it, which I don't want to do.

Also love my slow cooker for things like soups and stews. Slow cooking really gets nice flavor in there.

Don't use a pressure cooker. I'm patient enough to let beans soak overnight... LOL

Do you have an Aldi's grocery store near you? I saw pressure cookers in our Aldi's today for $39. Stainless, not aluminum.

Maybe I'll pot a plant in mine...I've no idea what to do with it :P

;)

tell your husband they're building an aldi on burkhardt (I think) kinda near sams club but not sure if it's open yet :P
