Bringing an injectable birth control meds

I wonder if it's possible to bring Depo-Injection (for birth control) to the US. Any ideas? Thanks!

All meds are expensive here compared to other countries. If you don't have insurance you can get the shot from Planned Parenthood here in the US. The will provide service on a sliding scale based on income.

Yes you can as long as you don´t declare it, you have to put it in the luggage. Attach the receipt to it. People always bring some medicine from their countries with no problems. Of course not too many!.

It has to be done by a doctor in the US. Costs about $120-300 a year. With my insurance, it would cost $30 for three months but I like the pill (mainly because its not linked with infertility like Depo). With my insurance, the pill costs $3 a month.

I wouldn't bring them to the United States because here, they can only be provided by a health care provider and it is a little odd to have to explain that to customs.

If you will live in a large city check the prices at Planned Parenthood. If you don't have good insurance, they have the best birth control prices and there are many throughout the US.

To bring any injectable medication on to a international flight to the US you will need a copy of your prescription and a letter from the prescribing doctor explaining why you need to carry this medication and what illness or disease you have.

You must pack it in your carry-on and declare it at security telling them you are carrying hypodermic needles and medication, they will inspect it and scan for explosives and check your prescription details and the letter from the doctor.

They normally have no problem with people carrying medication for diabetes, MS and other chronic conditions that require regular injections. I have no idea if they will allow injectable birth control medication as it is not a self administered drug, it is normally only given by a nurse or doctor.

There are many many clinics that will help with the cost of birth control, some local clinics give it free for those who have no insurance.

why don't you have it before you leave,instead of bringing it?

u need prescription coming from ur doctor.........and probably declare it to the customs or if your lucky you can put it into your luggages and thankz if they don't find it out......

yes i am preg but based from my experienced, when i went here in USA i'll make sure i have a letter stating that i am pregnant and fit to travel and prescription coming from my OB

that i need that vitamins for my pregnancy so on and so forth.............

so make sure everything is documented............proof and evidences that it's legal

but for some meds it alright to bring it but only some.............

Mmmm... I get scared reading some of the answers but thanks I will just have the injection before I will leave and find out later how and where to get the following dose when I get there already. Thanks for all the prompt reply.

Hi, you don't need to bring any contraceptive if you don't wanna get preggy. THere's a new method that wud only cost you $250 but that is good for 5 yrs.You can go to the health dept. for free but they will base it on you hubby's income to avail it.

Five years is long. We just need 2-3 years of birth control. Two-fifty is cheap though for 5 years of birth control. That is very interesting!
