The White House staff [have] been told to lay off Sasha and Malia Obama's beds.

"That was the first thing I said to some of the staff when I did my visit" to the White House, Michelle Obama told ABC News.

Their parents have frequently expressed concern about enabling the girls to grow up in a "normal" way inside the ultimate power bubble of the White House.

That means picking up their rooms, making their beds and staying on top of their homework, the self-styled mom-in-chief told the network.

"That's going to be one of their goals. You don't make their beds. Make mine. But skip the kids. They have to learn these things," she said.

Children of former presidents only have SS detail until they're 16. Obama and his wife will only receive it for 10 years after leaving office. The law changed in 1997, so Clinton is the last preseident who will receive lifetime SS protection.

How old should a kid be to make their bed?

doods..kids can start at a young age to (help) with the bed first, then progress to doing it themselves if not perfect oh well they will know they tried and then it will get better but a certain age just depends on the kid i guess

kids should start making their own dang beds as soon as they're sleeping in a proper bed and not a crib Good for Michelle for wanting to teach her kids responsibility. It seems so few parents do these days.
