N400 cover letter

I don't see a sample cover letter for the N400 application anywhere. If someone could share theirs it would help me put mine together. Right now I am using my I-751 cover letter as my example. I am planning on sending our application on the 22nd of November.

My wife entered the US October 23, 2005 on a K-1 visa. We have been happily married for three years and request that this application be accepted for Naturalization to the USA of my wife, Mariya.

Enclosed also please find the following documents asked for in the application to verify the status of our marriage and ongoing relationship:

· Copies front and back of the green card of Mariya xxxxxxxx

· Copy of Sam and Mariya xxxxxxxx Marriage Certificate

· Copy of spouse Sam xxxxxxxx birth certificate

· Copies of spouse Sam xxxxxxxx divorce decrees

· A partial copies of our 2005, 2006 and 2007 joint tax returns

· Copy of our auto insurance statement.

· Copy of our bank statements showing joint account.

· Copy of cable television statements showing a joint account.

· Copy of Mariya’s Roth IRA showing husband Sam xxxxxxx as beneficiary.

· Copy of vehicle registration in Sam and Mariya xxxxxxxxx name

· Copy of Mariya’s pay statements showing address of residency.

You may feel free to inquire at any of the sources of enclosed documentation for validity of their statements, and you are also welcome to visit our home should you ever desire to do so. Please advise me if you have any further questions or problems related to this petition.

The only cover-letter needed is something like this:

"Gentlemen: Appended is the original N-400 package for ____, A#______. Thanks."

1) Isn't the letter supposed to come from the applicant, not from the applicant's spouse?

2) I think enumerating the contents of the evidence being sent in is a good idea too....
