Hello. I just wanted to add myself to the list. We mailed the paperwork in on the 24th of November, they recieved it on the 28th. Our check was cashed on the 4th of December.

I received NOA today showing Receipt and priority date November 26, 2008. Now I have a question! Where do i check the status online? I see on the application number NBC * and 9 digit number. IS that the number I need to check online? Also I was expecting it to be TSC does it mean it has been transferred? Please update my info as it is shown in my signature. Such as check cash and NOA.

Haiti, perhaps the USCIS has not yet entered your case into the system. I have an application number that starts with "ESC", which is for VSC even though my application was transferred to the NBC. I just checked my case online and it shows up, but there's no meaningful info. The msg essentially says that they got my application and it is in process. I entered "ESC*and the number".

Check the processing times at your local office, which will determine when (how quickly) you get the interview.

We recieved NOA1 yesterday. It was more like a "receipt" than the ones we've gotten in the past. Also, our Application Receipt Number was strange. It had the 3 letters, an asterik, 6 zeros and then 3 more numbers. I thought that was strange and it obviously wasn't searchable on the uscis website. Am I right in remembering that you don't get the real number until biometrics?

That is your application number. It will or it won't be searchable online. Mine wasn't at first but maybe afte 1 week,I can search it already.so just try and try.

Interesting...... We actually filed the same date for the same local office. I received the exact same thing you received and it starts with NBC plus the numbers you indicated. I called USCIS this morning just to see if they would know anything about my case, the girl who answered the phone said that's not their number. I insisted that she let me talk to someone else and yes of course this time I was transferred to an immigration officer and she was able to tell me about it. SO if you ever have a question make sure you talk to an actual immigration officer, I guess they have more specific access to the case.

I am thinking also once you get the fingerprint appointment you will actually be able to check the status online. It is surely gonna be a new number 'cause the one I have is easy to guess!

November 24, 2008 > Application Filed at TSC via United States Postal Service (day 0)

November 26, 2008 > Application delivered to TSC. Confirm by Postal Service (day 2)

December 04, 2008 > Check Cashed (day 9)

December 08, 2008 > NOA 1 in Mail / Case tranferred to National Benefit Center (day 14)

December 15, 2008 > Biometric appointment letter in mail (day 21 )

January 6, 2009 > Biometric appointment (day 43)

February 5, 2009 > Interview appointment letter in the mail (day 74)

March 26, 2009 > Interview date (day 121)

April 6, 2009 > Oath letter in mail (day 132)

April 17, 2009 > Oath ceremony (day 143 )

April 17, 2009 > I am a US Citizen now!!!

April 20, 2009 > Applied for my US passport via USPS Expedite service and mail my voter's registration card application

April 28, 2009 > Received voter's registration card

April 29, 2009 > Received US Passport
